The Rivercross Inn
Of Mill Field
The Rivercross is Mill Field's largest (and nicest) inn. The building features a squat, three-story tower made of rounded river stones, in the crook of an L-shaped cob longhouse with polished wooden trim. There is a roof of fine green shingles resembling the scales of a sea serpent. The stables around back are clean and well-kept.
There are neatly arranged shrub and flower gardens outside the main entrance, which can be covered during inclement weather using a retractable oilcloth awning large enough to drive a carriage underneath. A pair of thick, polished wooden doors stand thrown wide open during the day (except during the cold months) to greet any traveler who seeks rest or refreshment, and most nights feature some kind of bardic entertainment, whether it be music, comedy, acrobatics, juggling, storytelling.
Purpose / Function
Comfortable, clean rooms and beds for those who need sleep, farm-fresh food for those carrying hunger in their bellies, and the finest wine in town for those with a discerning palette, or strong, dark liquor for those with problems to drown.
As long as you have coins to spare, that is.
