Cirainni

Ciraini is the homeland of the sand elves formed after the Etawren Uprising. It geography and culture is centered around the oasis in the middle of the desert know as the Tears of Aveta or the Toh-Meri. Almost all those born in the arcane hot-spots in Astral Valley have a decent sensitivity to the arcane and as such studying magic is an integral part to Ciranian Culture. Its capital, Sheezal, is home to the largest arcane university in all of Caritir. Though not often acknowledged not all of the territory is gifted with a sustaining arcane energy past the Toh-Mek divide is a region officially named Chatmek it is usually referred to as the badlands. It is a place reserved for those who for one reason or another aren't fit for society across the divide. Without the arcane energy to sustain the land, Chatmek is a hostile environment, both in climate and in the creatures inhabiting it. Though some do manage to make a life outside of normal society out there, it is strife with resource shortages and attacks, either from desperate criminals or the many monsters that roam the desert. The main reason anyone would try to survive out there is there are plentiful deposits of precious metals underground and in the sand. Harvesting them is a dangerous but lucrative way of making money.
