The Age of Exploration

Inspired by early-mid 1500's Earth, Caralan has crested over the cusp of the age of colonization. The old world powers have long since squandered their resources fighting each other and with a lack of elbow room have started for the seas in order to expand their horizons.   When explorers came back with news of new land which seemingly primitive beings inhabited, the great rival empires of Narcoin, Obstan, and Vig have all abandoned their continental woes in favor of global expansion. After nearly a century of mapping and settling the outer islands and coastal provinces, the lust for more may drive the empires to search inland; as rumors of treasure and power abound.   The Tonamet Federation lies deep within the jungles, untouched by the outside yet worried as omens plague the land. They tell that a sweeping change is coming for their people whom were only united a generation ago.   It is in the young settlement of New Anda under the Narcoin Empire that you all begin. For whatever reason, you have found yourselves on the edge of the world. A world that will soon find that elbow room will be in short supply again. And it is here, that your story can unfold. Will you explore the wilds of the inland and discover beings and creatures beyond your imagination, or will you dive into the rivalries of empires who's people will not stay at peace for long?
