Irrast (ee-RAHST)

The foundation of Irrast marks the beginning of the Golden Age. The mighty city itself rises out of the waters between Khilland and Bracken, and it reaches from Dra Khol to Mundus. What made Irrast so different from the kingdoms that had come before it were the Emissaries, two representatives of each peoples inside Irrast’s borders that voted on mutually agreeable laws. These Emmisaries were to be chosen by their peoples in a way that each creed saw fit, but each was only allowed twelve years in office before being replaced.

Structure

Irrast was made of six isles:  Dra Khol, Khilland, Bracken, LaGuin Archipellago, Akkadai, Mundus.  They also claimed control over Siskiyou and Sonora, but its proximity to Tonyth made it largely uninhabitable and unvisitable.  Each of the isles chose two of their own as emissaries, members of a parliament that made all major decisions for the country.  Each isle was allowed to choose their emissaries in a way they saw fit, but each emissary was allowed no more than twelve years before being replaced.

Culture

Culture throughout Irrast was non-homogeonous, with each island maintaining their own customs.  Culture on the floating capital city called the Beacon of Irrast was a mismash of all the peoples that visited and resided there.
