Description The Whispering Plains is what can only be described as the epitome of human sin. It’s a shoddily built settlement in the middle of a field, consisting of huts made of animal skin and bones. These huts are spread out, with no clear organization, which I believe may be to protect themselves from their “peers.” There seems to be no clear leader, nor much inner strife. However, the residents of this place are nothing short of savages.
It seems that the people of the land are exclusively carnivores. Additionally, the inhabitants there are extremely territorial and hunt anything that comes near their grounds. Unfortunately, they are indiscriminate of what they hunt, or rather who they hunt. What makes them truly horrible is their practices. These primitive people, if you can even call them that, actively engage in cannibalism. While speaking logically, it is not a bad idea, as meat is hard to come by. However, there are certain lines very many desparate souls do not cross.
I suspect it is due to the Madness, and the lack of proper protection from the Shroud. What this does do however, is allow them some semblance of protection from the eldritch beings and their minions. I’ve observed them from afar, and it appears as if they’ve formed some sort of bond with eldritch hounds. What exactly their relationship is, I’m unsure of, but I have my theories. It’s possible that the Madness has mutated them to a point where they view each other as friendly, or at the very least, not hostile. Otherwise, it’s also possible that they’ve discovered the secret to taming the hounds, but I find that extremely hard to believe that those savages could get anywhere close to researching anything.
