DescriptionFor as long as I have been, this continent has always been known as Caligone to its residents. I know not where this name originates, but I must assume it comes from before the Shroud. For those living now, including I, it is all they have ever known of the world. It is a landmass of unimaginable size to most, with varied terrain and a nearly uncountable number of people. It is surrounded on three sides by the Great Sea, and to the north, a large mountain range and the Shroud create a border that none have ever been able to cross. Housed within the Shroud are a number of human settlements, with hundreds of thousands residing in each. The number has varied over the years, but at the time of writing this, there are thirteen. In the east lies Dungarstel, this continent’s capital. No one human rules over this entire land, but in Dungarstel resides the High Council, a group of leaders from across Caligone who unite humanity against its enemy, the eldritch.
Besides humans, this land is home to many abominable creatures. All are spawned by the eldritch progenitors, behemoths that have existed since time immemorial. They all stalk the land, just as the Shroud, slowly but surely wiping out humanity.
This land is desolate; little food will grow in its soil and all the animals that once roamed have since died off, due to lack of nutrition. All that remain are the humans, some surviving off of will alone, others, fear of death.
