Fireheart
Built upon the burned ruins of Aymara's former home, Fireheart is the capital of The Heartlands and the seat of power of House Fireheart. This great walled city sits in the center of the Heartlands on the bank of The Heart river and acts as the central hub for trade, fisheries and commerce for the country.
Government
Fireheart, like the rest of The Heartlands, is governed by House Fireheart who rule the whole country as a royal family. Traditionally the Praetarch will hold court regularly to answer the needs of the Folk who live within the city. Outside of these court hours, the smaller matters of the city are handled by a group of Stewards chosen by the Praetarch.
Defences
Fireheart is protected by a large stone perimeter wall which encircles most of the city. The city sits upon the bank of The Heart River which offers a natural defence for the city's eastern side. The Royal Palace is itself a fortified castle located to the northwest of the city within the affluent noble's district. This district has its own defensive perimeter wall protecting it and serving as a last defense line against invaders who breach the outer walls.
Fireheart also maintains a significant city watch to ensure the keeping of the peace along with a small garrison of permanent soldiers to handle smaller scale conflicts outwith the city that do not necessitate a national drafting.
