Lieutenant Damien Sydney (a.k.a. Hazel)

Born to an unhappy mother and father as an accidental pregnancy, Hazel grew up in poverty for most of his life watching his parents fight and drink their troubles away. He tried to help provide for them as best he could, balancing two jobs in high school until the stress gradually became too much for him and he dropped out to join an underground fighting ring, learning to use it to take out his anger.
He was 20 when the Calamity hit, sending his family into even more chaos and financial disarray until the tension broke and his father tried to kill his mother in a fit of anger. Hazel stepped in to save her, unknowing of the changes in his body the Calamity had brought. With his emotions running rampant, the Shadow Clone subdued his father with lethal force, much to both his own and his mother's horror. Believing her son to be possessed by the devil, the woman soon took her own life, sending Hazel into a deep depression.
For years, he wandered alone believing that he was a monster, until he eventually was recruited into the organization Augenheit and trained to be a soldier by people with similar defects as he. Now using his knowledge of combat to train those less experienced than him, Hazel is known to be a strict but caring teacher.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Somewhat of a shorter, lanky build. He looks skinny but overall he's very fit; he trains often to stay at the top of his game for himself and the recruits who look up to him. Often pushes himself past his limits in an effort to get "stronger" and look reliable.

Body Features

Dark, tanned skin that's covered in freckles from all his time spent out in the sun. He's heavily riddled with tiny nicks and scars, the two most prominent being on his browbone and across the bridge of his nose.

Facial Features

He has a strong enough jawline for it to still stand out against his beard, though it is one that he keeps well trimmed.
