My name is Akahana, but please just call me Hana. I am a doll maker from Paris. I work at Le fil écarlate, a small toy store that is best known for its life-like dolls and figurines. I really like making toys and I excel at crafts that involve sewing and tailoring.
My English is mostly formal, so I may not always be able to handle incredibly nuanced conversations, but I am very good at speaking French and Japanese. I hope to develop my English more as I make you all my friends! To get started, I want to introduce a friend of mine I brought with me. Her name is Claire. She’s my precious, precious friend from home. She likes meeting new people but can be shy sometimes. Her favorite anime is Love chuunibyo & other delusions. We watch anime together but also like some western cartoons like Avatar the Last Airbender. I hope we can find some anime or cartoons we both like a lot!
I also really like costumes and fashion. I have a strong interest in Halloween, trick or treating, and dressing up as characters from my favorite anime or cartoons. I also like steampunk and clockwork design and love dressing up before going out for special occasions. I want to join the drama club and help out as a costume designer. I would like to try acting and performing as well, but I am very nervous to actually go up on stage… I like a good show to watch and if my friends are a part of it, it would make me really happy!
I do not know if there will be a club for it, but I really like board games as well. I am not the best at them but they always make me smile. I like card games too, but I only play them casually, I do not like gambling or playing for money. I think people should just play games for fun! If there is a club for games, I would like to try out some games from all around the world. Most of my experience comes from popular french games, but I have played some American games like Candyland and Monopoly. I really like Candyland because the board is very pretty and colorful. I think the way the board is designed makes people feel like smiling!
I hope to learn lots of things while at this university with you all! I have plenty of things I am interested in but have never been able to dedicate myself to such as music or learning an instrument. I think this is a good opportunity to better myself and my skills and hope to collaborate with you all on many things!
