Vozzhid, The Screaming Coffin

The Wraith Lord

"It was a horrifying encounter, that night. The High Inquisitor Gregorivich,Knight-Champion Ajorn, and myself had received reports of a necromantic cult in operation in Grasemere. We saddled our steeds and made to the city graveyard. We found a crypt that had clearly been tampered with. Ajorn pried open the stone doors and we descended into caverns carved into the mausoleum walls. We finally found a chamber decorated with bones, flesh, and foul symbols of necromancy, including a Screaming Coffin. Before we had a chance to investigate they were upon us, black phantasms that whispered cruelties and malice; Wraiths. We barely managed to fight off the specters before opening the coffin. Inside was a ghost-eater, one of his clerics, dead already. We shuttered as we felt the air get colder before we turned to the entrance. There he stood, the Wraith Lord. The Screaming coffin himself, you must believe me, i am not mad. The Black God looked upon us, those hollow blue lights flickered and we knew this was his plan all along. I remember little else but i do remember it was I that sealed the mausoleum back, trapping the High Inquisitor and Knight-Champion in with him. I sacrificed them to save myself, i sacrificed them to him, to the wraith lord, to Vozzhid. Gods forgive me."
Vozzhid, the dark god of necromancy and the undead is an ancient and powerful deity. He haunts the imagination of mortals as a black specter threatening to entrap and devour their very souls. Though he is a god most often associated with foul magic , his domain also includes the realm of dreams, sleep, and patience. The sleeping god is another epithet often used to slowly convert innocent souls to his profane worship.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The main goal of Vozzhid is to reclaim the death domain and the crossroads from his younger brother Ebirus, though now he wishes to enlighten the spirits of the dead so they may ascend to undeath and "live" forever.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Vozzhid appears as an emaciated and terrifying specter.

Body Features

His arms are blackened and withered while the rest of his body is a sickly ivory white.

Facial Features

Having no true eyes, they have been replaced by terrifying blue lights that flicker as if he is blinking.

Specialized Equipment

Vozzhid's most holy artifact is his Screaming Coffin, which is currently lost to him and his followers. The True Coffin is a powerful device capable of great and terrible things, though what those may be remain unknown.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The original god of death, Vozzhid was cast down by the creator with the birth of the new gods. Now, he has created for himself the domains of undeath and necromancy undermining Ebris at every turn. He is one of the more inactive gods, or so most would believe. it is more likely that his plans span centuries and millennia to come to fruition.

Accomplishments & Achievements

Vozzhid's greatest accomplishment to date is the creation of his "Screaming Coffin" and the lesser coffins employed by his cult. These unholy devices are used to devour souls and empower the Wraith Lord and his subjects .They also act as portals, allowing wraiths to manifest and serve in the material world.

Failures & Embarrassments

Vozzhid's largest failure was the loss of The Screaming Coffin in battle against Ebris, something that is believed to slow down his plots tremendously.

Morality & Philosophy

The morality of Vozzhid is strange. Life is almost meaningless without the concept of death according to Vozzhid, and since his place as a death god has been usurped, he now wishes known to go to the crossroads, at least as long as Ebris controls it. Instead, he drives his followers to ascend to the state of undeath and escape the cycle.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Vozzhid desires the domain of death, which he once held. Though he now has found enlightenment in undeath, the monstrous deity wants to "enlighten" as many souls as he can and eliminate the need for the crossroads all together.
