The Port

One of the most lively parts of Rimhaven, this is the center from which the landscape of houses eventually grew. The port, which began as a humble location for fishing and trading, is now one of the most densely populated areas of Rimhaven, if not in all of Caecia. The populus consists mainly of rich merchants with a connection to the local mafia, aswell as many smaller shop owners selling wares from all the most remote corners of Caecia.

Demographics

All kinds of species reside within the narrow streets and lively markets of the Port, though most residents are humans.

Government

Officially, the democratically elected major runs the town, however it is clearly known to everyone who has been living at the port for longer periods of time, that the mafia is the one controlling every last aspect of infrastructure, trade and even the local police force.

Defences

In the event of an actual attack, which is highly unlikely due to the Port save position, the town would be absolutely defensless, since all kinds of defensive structure have long since been deconstructed to provide more material and space for

Infrastructure

As in every part of Caecia the local infrastructure is very much randomised with houses and roads being constructed wherever abandoned buildings make way for it. No location is ever is certain, with the exeption of the central marketplace, docks and a few public buildings under protection of the mafia, although in a place as well of as Rimhaven, the natural shifting and changing through the everexpanding populus is happening a lot slower.

Assets

Naturally, by being the main point of trade in Caecia, many merchants sell their wares at the Port, though never without paying their tax to the ones really pulling the strings, the mafia.

History

Fishermen, who were are responsible for founding the entire city in the first place, now only exist out on the water, barely living of what they catch. The small port, who-knows-how-long-ago, served as a point of trade with whatever civilasation used to live beyond the lake, and due to Caecias rapid expansion has now become a bloated parody of itself.

Architecture

Most of the houses that are still based on solid ground are typically made of red brick supported by strong wooden beams imported from beyond the great lake, with a lot of them getting higher and higher as multiple floors were added, until they collapse from their own weight, making room for new housings to be build. The large amount of poor devils not wealthy enough to afford a house in town, make their own out on the water. These huts stand on long stilts in the shallow parts of the great lake, connected through a system of swaying suspension bridges.

Geography

The Port is in a central location, stuck between an endless sea of houses and the great lake, with the most distance from any of the more dangerous parts of Caecia as possible.

Natural Resources

Besides the fishermen making a living of of what the water grants them, most of the Ports wealth was aquired through trade.
