Apseth, the Serpent Lord

The only remaining god from the dark pantheon once worshiped by the yuan-ti, Apseth is the evil god of serpents and poison. The yuan-ti who remain in Meranthis believe him to be the true ruling god of the world, and that one day he will return to bring his people to glory once more. He is a master of deception and his only rival in the way of lies is the Queen of Devils herself.

Apseth once lived in the Towers of Night, but was long ago cast out and banished to the Windswept Depths of Pandemonium, from where he yearns to return to his former power. He is depicted as a huge, humanoid creature with a serpent head and tail, with massive wings on his back. His symbol is a flying serpent with bared fangs, and his sacred animal is the snake.
