Humans

Humans are the most common Race in the solar system, and those with the shortest lifespan. What Humans’ lack of longevity costs them is made up for their stubborn will to survive, reflected in their Perseverance trait. Humans hail from every corner of the globe, long before the solar war. Humans are quick to master and quick to learn, but slow to understand long-term repercussions. Their cultural zeal is rewarded by being accepted almost anywhere regardless of other segregations. During the first Era the vast majorities of Humans consider their true home as a civilization to be Severance City, the technological and scientific masterpiece spanning a large portion of Earth.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Humans are bipedal, with males ranging between 5'6 and 6'4, and females ranging from 4'9 to 6'. There are extreme variations, and humans are on the whole okay with this, even preferential to it, as humans love newness in general. Unlike humans from pre-New Solar Calendar, Homo Sapien Superior is much more biologically durable, able to take more punishment and survive rougher disease and toxins than their modern day, real life, counterparts.

Biological Traits

Humans mature around age 16-20, live in their physical prime between 20 and 60, and begin to decline until average death at 100. Many humans have zendikite or technology based benefits that allow them to extend the physical prime of their life by double or in a few cases, triple the time. In exceedingly rare cases, a Human can achieve biological longevity lasting centuries.

Genetics and Reproduction

Humans bond in various ways, depending strictly on the culture surrounding them. Gestation takes between 8 and 10 months, and the child is not ready to face the world for at least 15 years. A standard human is classified as Male or Female, being of XY or XX respectively, though variants can be found. Unlike other species, such as Kadru, Homunculi, or Wendigo, they are not capable of reformatting sex on demand, or non-binary procreation.

Ecology and Habitats

Humans, unlike most other species, can thrive pretty much anywhere thanks to their transportation ingenuity. If resources aren't there, humans will TAKE them there, and then make due with the surroundings.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Humans need food and water daily, though food can be abstained with severe penalty for up to 30 days, and water for up to 3. Humans tend to be dramatically social, sporadic, and need constant stimulation to be happy.

Additional Information

Facial characteristics

Humans vary greatly in their facial appearance, though symmetry is the standard.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

Humans can be found on any planet across the Solar system, being the most numerous and spread of species.

Average Intelligence

D6-D10

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Humans are the defacto standard for sensory capacity. For this reason they have no benefits or penalties to any senses.

Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms

Humans have a companionship, nearly symbiotic relationship with several types of animals found native to Earth, including dogs, Cats, several species of Birds, and numerous less-common creatures. Humans are one of the few Species that have domesticated so many creatures that an interdependence could to an outside species, seem symbiotic.

Naming Traditions

http://www.fantasynamegenerators.com/dnd-human-names.php is a recommended resource for generating human names. (I do not own nor profit from their use, support them please!)   Human names have a vast difference in construction and style depending on the dialects formed from earth. Generally, certain cohorts of traditions and locations have names with different meanings rooted in their history. As about 99% of humans speak Inner or Outer Rim (common), all translations can be made to sound somewhat like English mixed with Esperanto.

Major Organizations

The Earth United Sphere, the Sol Directive Alliance, the Reach, the Iron Chapel, the Invicta Domina, The Ratones, the Gians, The Mad Brotherhood, the Zenith of Things, and the Brutalis Program, are all human in origin.

Gender Ideals

The supreme majority of humans associate with either Male or Female gender archetypes. A fair minority identify with non-binary archetypes. Government classifications ignore these archetypes, in favor of a (Species-Sex-Origin-Age) classification.

Major Language Groups and Dialects

Inner Rim, Outer Rim, Solar-Common.

RPG Datasheet

As a Human, you may choose any single attribute to increase by one die size, for example, from a d4 to d6, or d8 to d10. This has a maximum starting level of a d10. This attribute also has its maximum cap increased to 24, allowing late game progression to a d12.   As a Human, you may choose two additional skills to begin at a d4.   As a Human you gain Transport as a d4 skill.

Human Employment:     There is a Human for almost any job which doesn’t require an extreme lifespan. They fill contracts and job positions for almost anything imaginable. About the only jobs humans will not fit with are ones which require genetic traits they don’t have. Humans are, pre-and post solar war and Godseye, the most common race in the solar system, so feel free to include them in almost any position you can imagine.
Roleplaying a Human:     Human are the shortest-lived race of the Brutalis world. Although they are found in almost any corner or section of the globe, the only common factor between them seems to be a lack of wisdom, and a short-sighted perspective on life and satisfaction. Role Playing a Human is easy, follow their chosen beliefs and you should be fine, but always be sure to throw in a little brash impulsiveness.
Human in Public:     Due to the sheer amount of variation within Humans as a race, they usually only follow a few trends in public. First, they seek satisfaction in a short-term sense. Secondly, they often form cliques or groups of like-minded individuals, not necessarily all Human, to achieve common goals. Third, due to their naturally short lifespan, they are usually heavily invested in whatever project or goal is at hand, attempting to achieve it at all costs and move on to the next step. The live free and die-hard philosophy is widely attributed to Human kind. Unlike real world humans, Humans have no delusions of being the most powerful or capable race in on Brutalis, and many of the wiser ones seek out political or economic council from the neighboring eternal races to better improve their own lives. Note: since Humans are so varying in their Role-Playing rules, it is heavily suggested to base Human NPC’s off people you know and have experienced to make them feel believable. Brutalis Humans, like real ones, are often obsessed with their own individuality and their own goals. The Primary racial impressions of humans in Brutalis are egocentrism and individuality.
