Broken Circle

The North holds the ruins of many broken and diminishing empires, but amidst that there are many factions with dreams of conquest. The humans are fractured into many dukedoms that have existed in a tentative peace with each other and the other races of the land, such as the High Elves of Aetheria and the Dwarven Kingdom of Diamond Peaks.   The land maintains its peace through The Circle of Eight, a conclave of the greatest spellcasters the land. Each major power's participation in the Circle has allowed The North to flourish in an unprecedented age of peace. However, as tensions rise and the monsters of the land awaken, Mordenkainen, leader of the Circle of Eight, calls the members for a meeting.   This follows a period of three and a half years where Mordenkainen was absent from his post on some unknown mission. Whatever it is he is planning, other factions believe that now is the time to put their own plans into motion...
