Instability
Instability is an affliction that affects creatures who have spent significant time in an area with unstable magic. The amount of time required to gain Instability and the severity depends on the levels of unstable magic they were exposed to. Instability has several levels of severity:
Flesh instability:
Flesh instability is the weakest version of Instability and is the most common. When afflicted with this, a creature will take 1d2 damage of a random type every hour for 5-10 hours.
Mind instability:
Mind instability is a moderately severe version of Instability. Creatures affected with mind instability will, when casting a spell, have a 1 in 5 chance (1d20 <= 4) to have their spell change into a random spell of the same level.
