Shifter

  Shifters, sometimes called "the weretouched," are descended from humans and natural lycanthropes, now nearly extinct on Khorvaire. Shifters cannot fully change shape but can take on animalistic features—a state they call shifting. Shifters have evolved into a unique race that breeds true. They have a distinct culture with its own traditions and identity.

Shift

  • You apply the shifting abilities from your heritage.

  • You can't use actions with the concentrate trait unless they also have the rage trait. You can Seek while shifted.
   
 

Heritages

  You select a heritage at 1st level to reflect abilities passed down to you from your ancestors or common among those of your ancestry in the environment where you were born or grew up. You have only one heritage and can't change it later. A heritage is not the same as a culture or ethnicity, though some cultures or ethnicities might have more or fewer members from a particular heritage.    

Beasthide

  You gain 12 Hit Points from your ancestry instead of 8.   While you are shifted:  
  • You gain a +1 status bonus to AC if you are unarmored.
   

Cliffwalker

  You gain the Combat Climber feat as a bonus feat, and as long as you aren't wearing footwear, you can use your strong legs to climb, leaving your hands free. Additionally, if you roll a success on an Athletics check to climb, you get a critical success instead.   While you are shifted:  
  • You gain a climb Speed of 10 feet.
   

Dreamsight

  Choose one cantrip from the primal spell list. You can Cast this Spell as a primal innate spell at will. A cantrip is heightened to a spell level equal to half your level rounded up. You gain the trained proficiency rank in primal spell attack rolls and spell DCs, and your key spellcasting ability is Charisma.   While you are shifted:      

Gorebrute

  Though you typically move like a biped, you can get on all fours to move quickly. If you have both hands free, you can increase your Speed to 30 feet as you run on all fours.   While you are shifted:  
  • Your horns grow into terrifying weapons, you gain a horn unarmed attack that deals 1d8 piercing damage. Your horns are in the brawling group and have the shove and unarmed traits.
   

Longstride

  You're descended from jungle stalkers and can move swiftly through scrub and underbrush. You ignore difficult terrain from undergrowth, and greater difficult terrain from undergrowth is only difficult terrain for you.   While you are shifted:  
  • You gain a +10 status bonus to your natural Speeds.
   

Longtooth

  You gain a jaws unarmed attack that deals 1d8 piercing damage. Your claws are in the brawling group and has the unarmed trait.   While you are shifted:  
  • Whenever you score a critical hit with your jaws unarmed attack, your target takes 1 persistent bleed damage per weapon damage die.
   

Razorclaw

  You gain a claw unarmed attack that deals 1d6 slashing damage. Your claws are in the brawling group and have the agile, finesse, and unarmed traits.   While you are shifted:  
  • Your claws deal an additional 1 slashing damage per weapon damage die.
   

Swiftwing

  You take no damage from falling, regardless of the distance you fall, as long as you are not incapacitated.   While you are shifted:  
  • Your arms grow leathery flaps of skin, similar to a bat. While not full flight, a strong flap allows you to jump further. When Leaping horizontally, you move an additional 5 feet (this additional distance isn't cumulative with the increased Leap distance from the Powerful Leap feat). You don't automatically fail your checks to High Jump or Long Jump if you don't Stride at least 10 feet first. In addition, when you attempt a Long Jump, you can jump a distance up to 10 feet longer than you normally would based on the result of your Athletics check, though you still can't jump farther than your Speed.
   

Truedive

  You gain a swim Speed of 15 feet.   While you are shifted:  
  • Your swim Speed increases to your Speed.
  •  
  • You and can hold your breath five times as long.
   

Wildhunt

  You come from a long line of skilled hunters and trackers and have a particularly keen sense of smell. You gain a +2 circumstance bonus to Track a creature or object if you've smelled it before.   While you are shifted:  
  • You gain imprecise scent with a range of 30 feet. This means you can use your sense of smell to determine a creature's location. The GM will usually double the range if you're downwind from the creature or halve the range if you're upwind.

Animal Vision

shifter   You gain darkvision.    

Consult the Night
Feat 1

uncommonconcentrateshifter   Prerequisites Dreamsight heritage   Frequency 3 times per day   Requirements You must spend 10 minutes just after your daily preparations examining the sky or consulting a star chart or you can't use this action that day.  
  You recall the stars' predictions about your current situation. If your next action requires you to attempt one or more skill checks, roll 1d8. On a result of 6, 7, or 8, you gain a +2 circumstance bonus to the first such skill check you attempt. On a 3, 4, or 5, you gain a +1 circumstance bonus. On a 2, you gain nothing. On a 1, you take a -1 circumstance penalty to the skill check.    

Critter Shape
Feat 1

uncommonshifter   Once per hour, you can use Change Shape to enter a critter shape. While in critter shape, you gain the effect of a 1st-level Pest Form , except you can only transform into an animal matching your inherent animal.   You can remain in critter shape for up to 10 minutes, after which you transform back into your original shape and can't enter your critter shape again for 1 hour. You can instead use Shift to return to your humanoid shape at any time during the duration of Critter Shape.   If your inherent animal is normally larger than Small, you transform into a smaller, younger version of the animal, such as a Small bear cub. If your inherent animal has a fly Speed, you can turn into that animal (unlike normal for 1st-level pest form ), but you still don't gain a fly Speed.    

Inner Focus

fortuneshifter   Frequency once per day   Trigger You roll a critical failure on a saving throw against an emotion effect.  
  You center yourself. You fail the save against the emotion effect instead of critically failing.    

Lingering Curse
Feat 1

shifter   Shifter's have a natural resistance to curses, believed to be a result from the Lycanthrope curse creating them or from their connection to nature. You gain a +1 circumstance bonus to saving throws against curses, and to saving throws against spells cast by a daelkyr. If you roll a success on a saving throw against a curse or a spell cast by a daelkyr, you get a critical success instead.    

Natural Ambition
Feat 1

shifter   You were raised to be ambitious and always reach for the stars, leading you to progress quickly in your chosen field. You gain a 1st-level class feat for your class. You must meet the prerequisites, but you can select the feat later in the character creation process in order to determine which prerequisites you meet.    

Pack Nature
Feat 1

shifter   The pack-like bonding has taught you from a young age to set aside differences and work with others to achieve greatness. You gain a +4 circumstance bonus on checks to Aid.    

Pack Tactics

  You have mastered how to hunt with your pack. If an enemy is within reach of you and at least two of your allies, that enemy is flat-footed against you.    

Shifter Lore
Feat 1

shifter   You eagerly absorbed the old stories and traditions of your ancestors. You gain the trained proficiency rank in Nature and Survival. If you would automatically become trained in one of those skills (from your background or class, for example), you instead become trained in a skill of your choice. You also become trained in Shifter Lore.     5th level  

Animalistic Resistance
Feat 5

shifter   Your animalistic connections help you resist natural afflictions. You gain a +2 circumstance bonus to saves to resist diseases and poisons.    

Beast's Olfactory
Feat 5

shifter   Prerequisites Animal Olfactory  
  You gain scent (precise) 5 feet. This increases to 10 feet when you gain master Perception.    

Nature Climber
Feat 5

shifter   Prerequisites Cliffwalker heritage  
  You gain a climb Speed of 10 feet. While shifted, your climb Speed increases to 20 feet.    

Sense Allies
Feat 5

shifter   Like many shifters raised in a close-knit community, you have always been strongly attuned to the presence of others. Willing allies that you are aware of within 60 feet that would otherwise be undetected by you are instead hidden from you. The flat check for you to target willing allies within 60 feet that are hidden from you is 5 instead of 11.     9th level  

Blessing to the Shifter

  You gain a number of temporary Hit Points equal to your level plus your Constitution modifier. When you change to your Humanoid Form, you lose any remaining temporary Hit Points from Lunar Regeneration.    

Extra Shifter Heritage

Filter the False
Feat 9

  You focus your mind to ignore falshoods around you, using your animal instinct as a guide. If the next action you use is to Shift, you gain the effects of a 2nd-level True Seeing spell, using your Perception modifier for the counteract check. The effect lasts as long as you are shifted.     13th level  

Dire Form

shifted formshifter   Your hybrid shape is a hulking beast. While in your hybrid shape, you gain the effects of enlarge.    

Gift Of The Noche
Feat 13

shifter   You can share your power with others, but they can't escape the werecreature's curse as easily as you can. You can cast a 5th-level Moon Frenzy as a primal innate spell once per day. At 15th level, you cast a 6th-level moon frenzy instead. At 17th level, your 6th-level moon frenzy grants its standard effects, except the temporary Hit Points increase to 15 and the silver weakness increases to 15. At 20th level, you cast a 10th-level moon frenzy instead. The spell uses your class DC or spell DC, whichever is higher.    

Howl
Feat 13

  You give a daring yowl in the face of adversity, calling your companion back from the brink of unconsciousness.   Your ally isn't knocked out and remains at 1 Hit Point. Your ally's Wounded condition still increases by 1 as though they had been dying and recovered.     17th level  

Focus the Third Eye

  You focus your mind to reveal the truth around you, using your animal instinct as a guide. If the next action you use is to Shift, you gain the effects of a 6th-level True Seeing spell, using your Perception modifier for the counteract check. The effect lasts as long as you are shifted.
