Dragonborn

Dragonborn resemble humanoid dragons. They stand upright, and are covered in scales similar to a dragon. A typical dragonborn's scales can be a wide variety of colors. Unlike the dragons' coloring schemes, a dragonborn's schemes rarely betray the dragonborn's abilities, including its breath weapon. Most dragonborn have very fine scales over most of their body, which take on almost a leather look, with much larger scales on their forearms, lower legs and feet, shoulders, and thighs. Dragonborn stand tall and are built strongly. Their hands and feet are actually talon-like claws with three fingers and a thumb on each hand. Their heads are elongated, with a blunt snout and distinctive frills on each side of their head. Behind their head, thick, ropy scales that resemble hair come down to their backs. Unlike other humanoid races, dragonborn are hatched from the eggs of their mothers. Young dragonborn also grow faster than most humanoid children do. They walk hours after hatching, reach the size and development of a 10-year-old human child by the age of 3 and reach adulthood by 15. They live about as long as humans do.

Heritages

  You select a heritage at 1st level to reflect abilities passed down to you from your ancestors or common among those of your ancestry in the environment where you were born or grew up. You have only one heritage and can't change it later. A heritage is not the same as a culture or ethnicity, though some cultures or ethnicities might have more or fewer members from a particular heritage.    

Black Scale Heritage

Draconic Savagery
Feat 1

dragonborn   Your body is just as dangerous as real weapons. Gain an unarmed attack from the list below. You can take this feat multiple times, but must select a different unarmed attack every time.  
  • Bite unarmed attack that deals 1d8 piercing damage.

  • Claw unarmed attack that deals 1d4 slashing damage and has the agile and finesse traits.

  • Tail unarmed attack that deals 1d6 bludgeoning damage with the sweeping trait.
   

Draconic Sorcery
Feat 1

dragonborn   Choose one cantrip from the arcane spell list. You can cast this cantrip as an innate arcane spell at will. A cantrip is heightened to a spell level equal to half your level rounded up.    

Dragon Hunter
Feat 1

dragonborn   You seek vengeance against the the dragons that enslaved your people or hunt down dragons that oppose your draconic god. You gain a +1 circumstance bonus to damage with weapons and unarmed attacks against dragons. If your attack would deal more than one weapon die of damage (as is common at higher levels than 1st), the bonus is equal to the number of weapon dice or unarmed attack dice. In addition, if a creature critically succeeds at an attack against you and deals damage to you, you gain your bonus to damage against that creature for 1 minute regardless of whether it has the chosen trait.    

Dragon Resilience
Feat 1

dragonborn   You gain a +1 circumstance bonus to saves against effects that would impose the paralyzed or sleep conditions. If you roll a success on a saving throw against an effect that would impose the paralyzed or sleep condition, you get a critical success instead.    

Dragonborn Breath
Feat 1

arcanedragonbornevocation   You can breath elemental energy into a gout of energy that manifests as a 30-foot line or a 15-foot cone, dealing 1d4 damage. Each creature in the area must attempt a basic saving throw against the higher of your class DC or spell DC. You can't use this ability again for 1d4 rounds.   At 3rd level and every 2 levels thereafter, the damage increases by 1d4. The shape of the breath, the damage type, and the saving throw match those of your heritage. This ability has the trait associated with the type of damage it deals.    

Dragonborn Lore
Feat 1

dragonborn   You gain the trained proficiency rank in Arcana and Intimidation (chromatic heritage) or Diplomacy (metallic heritage). If you would automatically become trained in one of those skills (from your background or class, for example), you instead become trained in a skill of your choice. You also become trained in Dragonborn Lore.    

Elemental Affinity
Feat 1

dragonborn   You gain resistance to your heritage's energy type equal to half your level.    

Hoard Collector
Feat 1

dragonborn   You gain treasure scent 30 feet as an imprecise sense. If you aren't using the Seek action or searching, the GM automatically rolls a secret check for you to notice hidden treasure anyway.     5th level  

Draconic Magic
Feat 5

dragonborn   Prerequisites Draconic Sorcery  
  You can cast Detect Magic, Read Aura, and Shield as innate arcane spells at will. If you chose one of those spells with Draconic Sorcery, you can select a different arcane cantrip.    

Draconic Snout
Feat 5

dragonborn   You gain scent (imprecise) 30 feet.    

Draconic Unarmed Cunning
Feat 5

dragonborn   Prerequisites Draconic Savagery  
  Whenever you score a critical hit with an unarmed attack you gained from the Draconic Savagery feat, you apply the unarmed attack's critical specialization effect.    

Terrain Adapter (Climb)
Feat 5

dragonborn   You gain a climb Speed of 15 feet.    

Terrain Adapter (Swim)
Feat 5

dragonborn   You gain a swim Speed of 15 feet.     9th level  

Arcane Hide
Feat 9

dragonborn   Prerequisites Dragon Resilience  
  You gain a +1 status bonus to saves against magical effects.    

Draconic Pride
Feat 9

dragonborn   Frequency once per day   Trigger You attempt a check using a skill you're trained in.  
  Your prideful nature pushes you to impress others with your talents. Gain a +4 circumstance bonus to the triggering skill check.    

Dragon Slayer
Feat 9

dragonborn   Prerequisites Dragon Hunter   Trigger You attempt a saving throw against a dragon's Frightful Presence or Breath Weapon  
  You gain a +1 circumstance bonus to the triggering saving throw until the end of this turn. If you roll a critical failure on the saving throw, you get a failure instead.    

Dragon Wings
Feat 9

  Channeling draconic magic, you summon forth wings from your back, similar in appear to dragons. These wings remain for 10 minutes. You gain a fly Speed equal to your Speed while you've manifested your wings.    

Greater Breath
Feat 9

dragonborn   Prerequisites Dragonborn Breath  
  When you use Dragonborn Breath, you can increase the damage dice to d8s and increase the area to 60-foot for a line breath weapon or 30-foot for a cone. If you do, you can't use Dragonborn Breath again for 1 hour.     13th level  

Elemental Mastery
Feat 13

dragonborn   Prerequisites Elemental Affinity  
  Your resistance from Elemental Affinity increases to 5 + half your level, and you can cast 4th-level heightened Resist Energy as an innate arcane spell once per day. The spell only grants resistance to your heritage energy type, but you can target up to three creatures.    

Frightful Presence
Feat 13

dragonborn   Frequency once per hour  
  Attempt an Intimidate checks to Demoralize each enemy within 30 feet.    

Inspiring Roar
Feat 13

dragonborn   Frequency once per hour  
  You let out a triumphant roar that pushes your allies to fight harder. You and all allies in a 30-foot emanation gain a +1 status bonus to checks, saving throws, and armor class until the end of their next turn.     17th level  

Draconic Paragon
Feat 17

dragonborn   You have untapped the arcane blood of your draconic heritage to transform into a true dragon. You gain Dragon Form as a 6th-level innate arcane spell that you can cast once per day, except that you can use your own AC and attack modifier, and gain tempoary hit points equal to your level. You use your class DC for your breath weapon DC. The type of dragon you choose must match your heritage.    

Dragon Flight
Feat 17

dragonborn   Prerequisites Dragon Wings  
  Your wings are now a permanent part of your physiology. You gain the effects of Dragon Wings at all times, rather than just once per day for 10 minutes.
