The Guide

Should ever you find yourself in despair
And look up to see a ghost standing there,
The Ruler must have a grand plan for thee;
The Guide only comes for one of the Three.

— Poem from the early cycles of the Circles of Renewal

Summary

The Guide is a ghostly figure which doesn't communicate verbally, but uses other means to guide its charge through obstacles which they didn't believe they could overcome. The Guide will occasionally physically aid its charge, by providing transport or other physical assistance.

Spread

The Guide is a near ubiquitous symbol of unasked for aide, and though the creature is considered by most of the Three Species to be nothing more than a fairytale, people who donate or complete random acts of kindness are often called Guide (in their language, or course) by those they help, an honorific meant as a show of respect equivalent to a fairytale hero's mentor.

Variations & Mutation

The Guide was once a helper in all ways, but as the Three Species drifted apart, the Guide of their tales became more like the most valued aspect of each of the Three; a physical aid for the Zweissen- a Guide for wars, a mental aid for the Candyonen- a Guide in meditation, and an emotional aid for the Sypen- a Guide through the hardships of life.

The Guide
by Morgan
  The Guide, as describe by Zweiss when he returned from the Closing of the Urn, is depicted in countless tapestries and illustrations- seen to be guiding woodland hunters to their quarry, advising students on their next realm of study, or pulling commoners through their daily, grinding routine.
Date of First Recording
The first recorded sighting of the Guide was by the Three- it guided them to each other, if by a long and winding path.
