Skymallow
Unfinished Article Note
This isn't a harvest, but a crop; the skymallow is recently domesticated, yet extremely important. I haven't decided how prolific it will be, or the difficulty of caring for it, as I have yet to talk through the implications, seeing as the Skymallow produces marshmallow puffs– each puff a veritable treasure trove of sugar, throwing the usual bitter fare of the world into chaos as this sweetener becomes more widely available. I'll be talking with some mentors about the effects of this crop, at which point I will edit this article.Basic Information
Growth Rate & Stages
Wild skymallows start as a seed, which sits on the rocky ground and is covered in snow during the Winter and the Rimes. As the Mists approaches and the snow melts, the seed sprouts small roots and a short stalk, with a couple of uninflated mallowfruits coming out the tip of the stalk.
Additional Information
Domestication
Cultivated sky mallows aren't too different from wild ones, except that farmers make sure to bury the seeds when they fall, then pick the mallowfruit before/as the flowers come in, so that the plants make new mallowfruit. Plants with bigger leaves can be expected to produce larger and less hollow fruit, leading to them being more incapable of flying with each generation.
