Festival of the Light

History

During the Circles of Doom, the only light came from the stars, and during the Year of Doom there was very little light at all. When the Light-Watcher shattered the Urn, however, the Guardians realized their mistake in ignoring those on Brandara, and they began granting their aid to the planet. The first act of this was Luthor's releasing of the Light into the sky, giving life a new chance to thrive.

Execution

The Festival has no stringent schedule to follow as the Feasts of the Guardians and of the Three do, but rather is a time for free celebration; this is a festival to rejoice in the surviving of another Year of Doom, to honor Luthor's gift to Brandara, and to simply revel in the new life that is to come.
Some common ways of celebrating during this festival include the lighting of candles during the night and in dark places, the liberal use of scraps of brightly colored textiles as decorations on buildings and persons, and the opening of every shutter, window, and door in a building– this last not only lets the Light in, it also helps air out the unused buildings.

Observance

The Festival of the Light begins on the first hour of the first Faie of Luthra of Pandrae's Year, and lasts through the final hour of the first Comzhie.
