Amen
The Amen are similar to cats, but with larger heads, eyes, and ears, as well as a much more playful attitude, catering to the empathetic capabilities of sentient species in order to gain the trust and closeness of such beings. Once an Am has properly enticed such a creature, it will inconspicuously lead them to a secluded spot, where it will face its prey with wide, innocent eyes for a moment before rearing up and transforming into a hideous, rat/cat cross, the size of a human child, approximately four feet tall when standing on its hind feet. Large teeth will grow from its open mouth, it's tongue and tail will fork, and its claws will extend. The Am will then tear apart its surprised and fear-petrified prey, eating all skin and muscle off the bones, leaving only bones and those organs which it desired not to ear (the specific organs which are left differ between Am, and sometimes even from prey to prey).
Basic Information
Anatomy
Similar to a cat, the Amen have four legs, a tail, and a whiskered muzzle, with pointed ears and slit pupils. The hunting form of the Amen appears more rodent-like, but stands on its hind legs and grows to be twice or thrice the height from ground to shoulders as its cat form.
Ecology and Habitats
The Amen tend to live in medium to large cities, where stray domestic animals are inconspicuous, though some have been discovered in smaller towns and villages with large stray populations or a high child to adult ratio.
Additional Information
Social Structure
Amen tend to avoid each other, as a large group of man-hunting cats tends to attract attention, causing the cats of the community to be ousted, and the Amen with them.
Domestication
Amen cannot be domesticated, but they can act tame in order to fit in with house cats and so be able to get close to their next target.
