So I have a title now. Dragonkeeper. It still doesn’t feel real. Podreth has been a fantastic companion, and I very much look forward to “keeping” him.

As much as I’d like to dwell on that, we just had a pretty rough go of it with some other awful dragons, and Cormag had a close call. I’m so grateful for this healing staff - it may have been the reason Cormag’s still here. I mean, who knows if my soul insurance works just as well a second time on the same person… I hated seeing him surrounded like that. I’m not losing him. I may have lost Byurish and Lomdi, but I’m not losing him. I’m not losing anyone anymore, but especially not him. He’s fought too hard to come back to this life.
I am impressed with the tricks we pulled - Arya’s sword-bullying seems to be paying off, and those bolts were packing quite a punch with Kara and Rainier’s combined efforts (their brains and brawn are truly terrifying.) I pray we still have enough tricks up our sleeves to take care of this beholder (these beholders?) just beyond.
There’s still a gigantic threat on the horizon for Cair Callidyr, an Aly to make sure is alright, and some significant spiritual journeys to take for Arya and for Kara.
