Session 82-86

Arya   The divine sword we gifted the queen was in fact very magical but it was not the real artifact we all thought it was. It did however reveal the location of the actual sword. After explaining the importance this artifact to my team I decided that we should go and retrieve the real sword. The plan was to have Aly teleport us near the location and we would retrieve it, I know Aly is a very capable magician and her cunning has been able to hide many secrets from my team, however I think she, how you say, swallowed on more than she could consume. There was an accident that caused Gwenda to glow and we were teleported to the last place I want to be, the underdark. Separated from Aly we found ourselves in a lake bordering an abandoned warped and twisted Drow castle which we decided to approach. On our way to the castle we were attacked by water creatures which we easily defeated, and as we scaled the walls of the keep we ran into trouble, two Drow and a spider. Thanks to my quick thinking and elegant performance I convinced the Drow that I was of much higher ranking in the Lolth clergy. Myself and a disguised mute and deaf Cormag were passing by with our servant Jimmy the cat (Rainier) with two prisoners. After a short talk we discovered that they were on the hunt of a man who followed Torm and they wanted torture Gwenda in order to draw him out. We also discovered that this castle was abandoned after a creature called the dreamer altered to castle with dark magic and infested it with abominations. Fearing no other way out of this situation we launched a surprise attack on the Drow group (after the leader boasted about how capable he was with organizing surprise attacks) and quickly slew them. From there Cormag awakened a piece of healing moss, the moss was leading us through the castle as it was contemplating the meaning of family and families relation to its own existence. As we were walking we stumbled across a cavern in which a whole horde of flying abominations attempted to molest us, after over an hour of fighting these things we had killed them all, unlocked the magically sealed door and limped out wounded from the battle. We then found a tremendous cavern with an abandoned drow city sitting in top of a cliff overlooking cursed water and an altar to Lolth on a separate tower. As I approached the altar I could feel the presence of Lolth grow, that’s when Spiders bane whispered to me a challenge. He wanted me to hold him and show my resolve to Eilistraee by not striking down my companions, an obvious trap. Instead, I used him to sear the symbol of the Dark Maiden onto the altar and cleansing it from the influence of Lolth. After seeing the disappointment in Spiders Bane for its inability to cut cleanly through the altar I mocked and teased it, showing Spiders Bane just how weak Lolth truly is, how she lurks in the shadows in fear while Eilistraee elegantly sings and dances under the moonlight. Kara decided that she wanted to use the altar as some sort of weapon, a decision I was not too pleased with, however if it means that I can bring the altar back with me and transform it into an alter of Eilistraee then that was a compromise I was willing to make. Shortly afterwards we ran into the Torm priest that the drow were hunting, it turns out that he knew Gwenda and was tasked with gifting her a young dragon to safeguard. The next day we started the ascend to find Aly and fight the Dreamer.
