Session 75

Rainier 
So…. I may have gotten a bit carried away. It was naive of me to think I would never encounter the Clave again, but I don’t think I expected to cross paths with them so quickly, and it’s gotten me on edge and has made my magic a little… intense. It’s like the second I saw Orgalus again, looking at me with those judgmental, beady little eyes of his, I just snapped. And I guess, well, so did he. I need to get this under control if we are going to try any sort of diplomacy in the future (I know it’s unlikely, but still). It’s helpful that the others have somehow gotten us a network of goblin spies and smugglers because it should give me some extra downtime to collect myself before our next mission. Well, our next mission after we get the crystal back from Lord Wellspring, that is. I have to say, I was impressed with the way Arya handled Bulnu. While Bulnu did seem to have a one-track mind, and even I could probably have guessed her intentions with the partnership with Lord Wellspring, I don’t think I could have navigated that conversation with as much skill as she did, and I’m also grateful that it meant I didn’t need to go sifting through the captive Clave member’s mind. In the future, though, I agree with Cormag (I can’t believe I just said that) that I would much rather see Nudgirk in charge of the network, since it seems like he may be more trust-worthy, sticky fingers aside. That’s a task for another time, though, I suppose, since we have Lord Wellspring to deal with now.
