All kinds of important people are here. And since we were invited, I guess we’re officially important people. I gotta say, we clean up real nice. It’s fun to see the fancy sides of my friends. There’s a lot of unrest among the people we passed before arriving. The newly-promoted Queen didn’t make her tour around the city like she promised, so the people in the poorer parts of town feel like she doesn’t think they matter. Not a great look for a new royal. Here’s hoping she can right that wrong in the near future. I do understand, though. Appearances matter less than her own safety.
She looked to be in good health. Our group (mainly Arya) presented the sword we found at the lake as a gift to the Queen. I think it’s safe to say we won the “best gift” award for the night. It’s quite meaningful to her: has family history with the sword. I’m honored to be a part of reuniting someone with their history, and I also happen to benefit from the reputation boost of the Queen’s approval.
Partying has been both better and worse than expected. I think I’ll stick to keeping people on their feet and mitigating alcohol damage. Honestly, I’m just happy to have an excuse to put on my jewelry and wear it proudly.
