Session 6

General Summary

I have no idea what went wrong at the pirate encampment.   Day: Unknown at his point they blend together.   We began the day camped just outside the large bulwark we originally set out for and our information was good. At east 30 pirates waited us within and they had gone so far as to build a watchtower to overlook the set up. Mish Mish and the Genie Merak checked it out before we went in. We made a plan. Things should have been simple. Swim in under cover of fog, take the chest off the sea floor, sneak back to shore and into the woods.   The chest was alive, big black hands made out of magic (I hope). We were made way to early by the pirates and then Mish Mish yelled into the sea and it basically came to life too. Lightning and strong wind and currents battered us. And saved us. It swatted arrows from the sky and pushed us from the sea floor. We barely escaped with our lives, Mish Mish the closest to death among us. Einar lives, and he's with the merry pirates. I hope to close my hands around his throat and watch the life leave his hateful limbs as soon as this poison is out of my system.   We ran for days, the pirates close and tight to our heels. When we had to rest finally, they attacked us. Another near death encounter for our band of ragtags. The haul of the chest was good though, enough coin and gems to pay our debt and get us free without mentioning the magical items within. A hammer, a gauntlet and a mask. What they do we don't know.   Our flight carried us inland, on cormags hunch. We wound up at the silver tree we hear about in town, on the shore of a perfectly still lake. We made camp to rest and heal. Cormag, entered that trance he does occasionally and walked, no inhibitions into the lake. I have no idea why, but he nearly died. He came out slightly different and spent the next hour trying to convince us to stay and address the sickness of the island or some such nonsense. I'm sorry to say he did. I'm glad to say he did. The curse on us expires and kills in two days or less. Were dead walking.
