Session 59

Kara   [Excerpt from a larger entry] ….. The Portals completion tooke some time but not much. As the mouth of the portal opened everyone held their breath for a moment before some people came through. A group of well equipped looking folks, the bulk of which seemed to be priests of the earth goddes we keep coming across. Few stood out but proved most skilled when tending to the survivors and setting up the camp. Their leader, Mother iris( a cleric I think) tended to the group's wounds including clearing the thick fog of the wolves from my mind and restoring my strength. I hadn felt myself n days as control and clarity came back. Some people were a bit less willin, specially cormag. I need to check on the man, we hav’n spoken much since he came back from the other side. A few mages set to work putin up huts and making food, but I took my own self to assist another healer in the stables. A strong, skilled dragon-kin who called himself altik. His healing was similar to my tribes own medicine and I helped gather folk who were injured and restrain them a bit durin the rough time of settin bones and the like. It was nice, exchanged jokes with him and stuff but it never quite left me that I was the source of many of the wounds bein tended. I fell like a monster more every day, its like I can barely control myself. After we finished I took myself outside for some grub before ali caught up with us. Said she had to leave and seemed grim. She left through the portal and after very little talk, arya followed to make sure she was Ok in what she was doin. Said a silent prayer for both em then tried to find food. Came across a bard named una. She was sittin about cooking and singing to the villagers. I sat down to eat caught by her voice and the smell of the grub. It was wonderful relief, and truly fantastic eats. Her tune carried on for a while, but before long mother Iris had gathered many of the villagers and some of us. She prayed for us, for the people, for healing and steadfastness. Told some stories of the land and of the earth mother. she led many hearts to some form of healing i think. As she finished she opened up the floor and something gripped me to speak on home and some of my long journey since. All that loss just kinda puked up outa me.It must have been magic that compelled me. I hope it was some kind of comfort. After food we began to prepare to leave, told the villagers they could come if they wished to be safe, then began to try and hunt down the survivors of the keep in the camp. I hope they know somethin and this trip was worth the lives it cost.
