Session 55/56

Arya     There are few things Eilistraee hates more than slavery. And slavery of the mind might be the worse form of it. I had long suspected an illithid to be behind this madness and unfortunately, I am always correct. No matter, it was obvious to the younglings under my protection that I would not stand for such a vile creature to control peoples as it pleases, and when it sensed my wrath approaching it pleaded for its life any tried to bargain with me to keep its rain of terror. I laughed at such a foolish proposition and the illithid used its slaves to attack me. And so, the fighting began. I used my quick thinking to shroud multiple enemies in flame and block half of the hostiles from approaching, meanwhile Kara discovered the barrels scattered across the room were flammable and exploded when in contact to flame. Cormag summoned fire and water elementals to fight archers and undead opponents, Rainer with her quick cat thinking teleported herself and Kara to a mage who was casting a spell in the back of the hall. And Gwenda, well im not sure what she did, she jumped down a balcony and she was so short I could not see her… but im sure she was fighting, so good job Gwenda. Oh but there was this bad ass giant ghost thing that hit enemies so maybe that had to do with her. We were making progress when all of a sudden a hidden door behind us opened and a horde of skeleton fighters appeared from behind it! Without thinking my hands were guided by Eilistraee’s divine wisdom and I reached for holy water from the hulock lake, I infused the water with Eilistraee’s might and turned the vial into a holy hand grenade. The explosion of the holy water was an event that priests of the future will recall in their teachings, as divine streaks of moonlight light shattered the fabric of existence and danced their way from abomination to abomination reducing their bones to ash and the ash to nothing. The experience was so intense that it left the very ground consecrated, holy to all those who follow Eilistraee and dimly radiating moonlight. But the fighting was not over yet, Kara’s weak mind had fallen to the illithid and I knew it was up to me to save my team. I recklessly rushed forward and drew silver tongue, the weapon blessed by my goddess as a sign of partnership. Using its soothing music, I cut off the illithids ability to corrupt minds and allowed my team to advance on it. Unfortunately, right before we had a chance to rid the world of such evil, it escaped through a portal that led to the underdark. Cormag quickly destroyed the portal so that it could not return with additional forces. But not before he notices an elder brain and an even stranger sight, Northsman fighting against a horde of mind flares. What does this mean? Hopefully we will never need to find out.
