General Summary

Hey journal. Trying to focus on the present moment, since my whole home life is gone now. I’m traveling with some interesting folks and trying to scrounge up some coin. The stakes are pretty high for them, though. Figured it can’t hurt for me to join them and save up for a new life. We headed north because we can chop some lumber for coin. There’s also this pirate chest that we could turn in for 100 gold if we succeed in fighting off a ton of pirates for it, but my gut tells me it’s not gonna happen.
I think me and Glongul have a good thing going. Small, hard-working, underestimated. I lent her my crossbow since I was worried she couldn’t handle getting up close and personal, but turns out she has this weird purple crackly magic that I’ve never seen before. It’s kinda mesmerizing — I would have stared at it if my focus wasn’t needed to fend off goblins. Which have black blood, by the way. Gross.
Kara is NOT to be crossed. She destroyed a goblin and split its skull. Pretty good cook, too.
Mishmish is kinda bomb with a sling. Seems to have a good brain.
Merak doesn’t talk much. Knows his way in the dark.
Cormag tries to make friends with any non-person, and I can’t decide if it’s cute, hilarious, or sad. Also he can summon a bear thingy?
While we were fighting I got injured by a crab, mega-speared by a goblin, and got kinda desperate. Not sure what came over me, but I feel badass after all the butt whoopin I did. We found a guy who was captured by some of the goblins. Glad we found him: goblins have got to be one of the worst causes of death. He thanked us with a spearhead.
