Session 39

Arya   The groups jester managed to go ahead and get himself killed. With the amount of lives I’ve took through out the years I’d think that the easiest way to die would be through the glory of combat, turns out if you sit still in one place long enough some of the less mentally fortified simply pass on to the next life. How they say, no amount of holy magic is enough to guide a fool back to his stead, in this case in a more metaphorical meaning. As the group wasted water from their faces I drew from Eilistraee’s wisdom and prepared a sled for the husk that was Cormag. We traveled towards the refugee camp all day in silence until we found a tree that was suitable for the druids burial site, then I instructed Kara to dig a grave. As this was happening a group appeared from the tree, it was the seekers which included Cormags brother and Gwendas father. Despite the death of Cormag the head wizard man was more interested with the gem we acquired while fighting the werewolf litch. After some cleaver word play I was able to trap the wizard in a battle of wits and extracted the admission that he was indeed hiding important information from us. When I first emerged from the underda I mean came up north onto the destroyed island, even in my weakened state I could tell that the seekers played a hand in the happening of that island. Now I’m beginning to wonder to what lengths the seekers are willing to go in order to achieve their mission, even their slogan reminds me of the Loth chants of old “Death is but a path to victory” and the similarities don’t stop there. Once we handed them the gem they left as fast as they came and day turned to night. And just like an autistic flumph can talk once a month, I suppose so too can the clown find his way steed. Cormag returned from the spirit realm, although to him 8 years had passed, he has lost an eye and gained a devouring stomach that probably connects to another realm. Only time will tell what trouble he will get himself into and how I will need to save him once more.
