Sept Alpha / Sept Leader

The single Garou seen to lead the Sept in its entirety, the Sept Alpha is above all others. They are the final military leader of the Sept, directing the Warder, who then directs the Guardians (though the Sept Alpha can direct the Guardians too, of course). The Sept Alpha comes by their position in a variety of ways: Bone Gnawer septs vote on their leader, Silver Fangs compete in ritualized combat, Serpents read smoke and ash and water to determine who would lead, and Fenrir choose the Garou with the most experience and triumph under their belt. The Sept Leader is the single individual who makes the call regarding times of war and times of peace. Abusing this power, however, has led to more than one Elder Philodox granting a blessing to a Garou in order to act against the Litany in challenge.
