I am the youngest heir of a prominent ruler. What do I do for entertainment?
A game on Boscage 4 where four opponents step onto a large square platform with a circle that fits exactly inside the square. There are two lines that divide to square in four quarters, with two nets that are three feet tall which extend across each dividing line, leaving a + symbol in the middle of the court. Each player equips themselves with a loin cloth or simple cloth garments, one metal brace worn on any chosen arm, and a one handed wooden bat that is held in the other hand. No player may have their gauntlet and bat on the same arm and hand. Players may only touch the ball with their gauntlet or bat, no other part of the body. The objective of the game is to eliminate the other three players by means of a point victory, or hitting them in the head with the game ball, which is a 5 pound rubber ball. The ball must stay in the air after it is served, and if the ball ever touches the nets or it hits their own court section, then that player lose 1 point. If the ball gets served outside the circle, but it touches the inside of the square, then that player loses 1 point, and if it's outside the square they lose 2 points. If the ball touches any part of your body except your head, you lose one point, and if it touches your head you are out of the game. Some players walk away with concussions and some even die, but this sport has become a popular past time, somewhere in-between tennis and gladiator combat. The only way to score a positive point is to hit the ball onto the enemy's court floor.
