Zelya, Goddess of Love

Overview

Zelya is the compassionate Goddess of Love and Beauty. Among the Gods none match her beauty, artistic skill or capacity for mercy. While she can be vain she recognizes beauty is on both the in- and outside. She thought mortals the creation of art and inspires them to pursue that which makes them happy. During the night she guides the moon along it's path, illuminating the dark and creating a romantic atmosphere where lovers can be safe beneath her gase. While merciful, Zelya has no qualms with slaying the unrepentant in order to protect those that can not defend themselves. Her smile inspires art, her touch instills love, her shadows hide lovers and her embrace averts harm. She blesses the world with spring so that life can blossom once more and passions can be reignited.
She is depicted as a stunningly beautiful young princess with long chestnut hair curling down to below her waist. Usually she is depicted as playing a harp while wearing a long regal teal dress. However she is also often depicted wearing a richly decorated suit of half-plate while wielding rapier and shield.

Charming and merciful Zelya is loved and praised by all. Her followers strive to make the world a better place and brighten up the lives of all they interact with. Many seek to bring out the best in others and often try to redeem others, yet this is only offered once and never to the utmost despicable sort. They train with rapiers in order to quickly and efficiently kill when needed and study various topics as a means of expending their own knowledge and horizons. Those that study the arts and it's applications and then pass on this knowledge have been known to found Universities where they can pass on their passions towards hopeful learners. While some can be vain, her true believers know that beauty is both on the inside and outside. They council couples and patron artists and healers so that all can live a beautiful life with knights taking up arms and armour to protect others. All that seek the love of another find themselves praying for her blessing and taking their loved ones on romantic moonlit walks. Her followers are lovers, healers, artist, teachers, commoners and nobles alike.

Temples

Her temples are beautiful affairs with lush gardens, decorated with many plants. They have places for artists to practice and for the sick to be tended to. It has a central rose garden of which some are gifted to new lovers and newly wed. Wilting roses are seen as a sign of her displeasure.

Relations

Zelya is the child of Alric and Nara and the lover of Kovan, who thought her mastery over arms and armor. Scirri's treachery has caused her great pain and wreaked havoc on all, as such she considers her an enemy yet agreed to the phases of the moon so that both co-exist.
