Nara, Goddess of Wisdom

Overview

Nara is the loving Goddess of Prosperity and Wisdom. She is seen as the Queen of the Gods, yet none match her humbleness and generosity. Her greatest gifts upon mortals included writing, the art of farming and medicine, with which mortals could live long lives and prosper. She guides them in developing practical tools and knowledge, with which they can further improve and enhance the lives of their own and their family. Likewise with the creation of food and beverages so that all can celebrate, be well and toast to the fruits of their labor. She brings forth autumn so that all can be rewarded for their hard work and celebrate each other's successes, in comfort of their homes. She is a benevolent protector of families and a fierce enemy to those that take advantage of others. It is with her knowledge that mortals can let their land flourish, cure their ailments and bring healthy children into the world.   She is depicted as a smiling queen in a regal ornate emerald dress with golden embroidery, her hair is pulled up in a ponytail and a radiant crown adorns her head.

Followers

All pray to Nara at least a few times in their lives, most notably when they are ill or suffer from set-backs in life. She is especially popular in rural areas where her humble priesthood aids in designing more efficient tools, techniques and means of working fields. Though in cities many an orphanage and school is dedicated in her name, sheltering and teaching children who either have no family or hail from less fortunate families. Likewise they guide those in need and use their wisdom and knowledge to provide council and aid to those around them. They orchestrate many celebrations yet also try to avoid folk from consuming too much alcohol in their revelries. Farmers, physicians, midwives, teachers, knights and some nobles are drawn to her teachings.   Favored Weapon: Sickle   Alignment anathema: Evil

Temples

In rural land her temples take the form of humble and plain buildings build near farmlands that double as infirmaries and schools. Within larger settlements they also double as orphanages.
