Halfling

Overview

Halflings are inveterate opportunists. They firmly believe they can turn any situation to their advantage, and sometimes gleefully leap into trouble without any solid plan to extricate themselves if things go awry. Halflings possess a strong sense of hearth and home, often spending above their means to enhance the comforts of domestic life. Without a doubt, halflings enjoy luxury and comfort, but they have equally strong reasons to make their homes a showcase. Halflings consider this urge to devote time, money, and energy toward improving their dwellings a sign of both respect for strangers and affection for their loved ones. Whether for their own blood kin, cherished friends, or honored guests, halflings make their homes beautiful in order to express their feelings toward those they welcome inside. Even traveling halflings typically decorate their wagons or carry a few cherished keepsakes to adorn their campsites.

Lightfoot Halfling

Optimistic and cheerful by nature and blessed with uncanny luck, curiosity and a sense of wanderlust Lightfoot halflings make up for their short stature with an abundance of bravado and curiosity. At once excitable and easy-going, they like to keep an even temper and a steady eye on opportunity, and are not as prone to violent or emotional outbursts as some of the more volatile races. They are the most adventurous halflings, traversing the world as traveling merchants and explorers, taking great pride in their family's wagons and caravans which they lushly and comfortably decorate.

Stout Halfling

Stout halfling, are hardy people who prefer to lead simple, quiet lives often in rural conditions. They strive to leave a comfortable legacy and home for their offspring and the luxery of their home is a source of great pride among them. Stout halfling communities are found throughout most lands where they let the other ancestries sort out the political mess while they partake of the pleasures of life. Nevertheless their communities and settlements govern themselves, with family leaders making decisions that effect the larger community.

Ghostwise Halfling

Ghostwise halflings are secretive, mystical and spiritual tribes that hide from the outside world in isolated communities centered around strange runestones. They closely watch the boundaries between the waking world and the dreaming world and have somehow become telepathic in doing so. They are dour, stoic and less jovial than other halflings and when they leave their seclusion it is to hunt a waking nightmare.
