Aasimar

Origin

Aasimar have their origin at the dawn of creation when a group of celestials fell in love with the world and petitioned the Gods to wander and explore the world, experiencing it like a mortal would. Their request was granted and as long as they remained pure of heart and strong of virtue they'd be reincarnated anew, yet if they strayed from the path a horrible fate would befall them. It is from the coupling of these Progenitor Deva and true mortals that the second generation of Aasimar came to the world. Each future generation of Aasimar children inherit their celestial spark.

Creating an Aasimar

As an Aasimar you are an individual without a true homeland, your people are found intermingling with various cultures across the world itself. You can be from anywhere and your skin tones and names match the local cultures.

Progenitor Aasimar

Progenitors come into the world as a fully formed adult in a sacred and safe space, cleansed of the knowledge of their previous lives. Reincarnation would cleanse them from their previous lives and allow them to experience it anew. While they reincarnate they dream of lives past and a new body is formed for them, this process can take a few weeks to a few years. Eventhough their memories are suppressed, sometimes they can gain visions of the past when they dream.   Progenitors can not die of old age, but world weary-ness leads them to "drop their body" in peace during a ritual that leads to reincarnation. Bodies, personalities, sexes and goals shift and change when they are reincarnated. Though even outside of reincarnation they have control over their bodies appearance, ever looking like a perfect version of what they envision this life to be. Not out of vanity, but because they know it will aid them during their new life. Scars and grievous injuries heal over, leaving no sings yet they can not re-attach body parts.

Appearance

Aasimar's appearance is otherworldly, with bodies that can be described as nearing perfection. Their bodies skin colors can take anywhere from mundane to grey, obsidian, blue or purple hues. Their bodies have unique natural skin patterns of lighter colors akin to tattoos, known to them as "signs" that somehow mark a portion of their ancestor's past as well as their own destiny. For progenitors these ones sometimes include clues to their past as well. These signs are metallic in coloration, usually silvery white, pale grey or golden.   If you are looking for inspiration consider rolling on the following tables.   Eye Color   1. Pure Gold   2.
