Phoebe Delos

Phoebe Delos (a.k.a. "Little Tiefling Girl")

Her violin was gifted to her at a young age. It was made for her father by his grandfather when he was young. He would play it often and became a somewhat famous musician and managed to woo Phoebe's mother with his talent. Although she did enjoy her father's playing, her favorite sounds came from when her tone deaf mother would attempt to play it or to sing along, making every note two and a half notes higher than she should. By the time Phoebe was born, her father had already retired and they were living in a smaller village. Phoebe sang and practiced violin just to see joy in her mother's eyes. When she was 14, a sickness swept through her village, taking both her parents' lives. The sickness took most of that village. A traveling circus/caravan discovered Phoebe and her talents, so they took her in to train her as one of their own. There she was trained as an acrobat and swords dancer by an elf named Silvia.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

"Soft yet Toned" - Her muscles are built more like a gymnist rather than a body builder. Her muscles are more condensed - built for acrobatics and agility rather than brute strength - but they are still hidden beneath a healthy amount of body fat (in other words, she has muscle mass, but isn't lean enough for it to be that visible at a glance).

Pink horns glow like faint pink embers from the inside. They have a somewhat glassy appearance.

Long tail with leathery rose pink spikes along its spine, with a giant pink floof at the end. She has been told that the fluffy part of her tail looks like some kind of fluffy warm cotton candy when viewed from a distance.

Pink-ish Cream skin

Thick, curly hair that is somewhere between auburn and brown in colour. She keeps it cut at bob length with bangs. She either keeps her hair held back with a headband or tied up in a short ponytail because she finds her hair to be "too unruly to do anything else with it."

Facial Features

She has a soft face.

Her ears are a little long and pointed, similar to say a half-elf.

In the summer, she occasionally gets tiny white freckles along the bridge of her nose and beneath her eyes.

Her horns naturally have a very faint pink glow, but they will glow a hotter pink and much brighter the more Phoebe blushes (either from embarassment, being flustered, etc.) They make it a bit easier to read her mood sometimes if she doesn't keep it in check (although the best that you could get from it is probably just the intensity of whatever she's feeling).

She doesn't do much to hide it, but she definitey wouldn't just blurt it out. She's definitely shy when it comes to talking about her own experiences.

Education

She knows how to read. Never given a completely formal set of education, but she enjoyed learning what she could from stories. She may not have much of a schollarly education; however she learned all that she could about music, the stage, and more from her biological father as well as from her circus family. She was taught Elven, Swords Dances, and her basic Ranger skills from her mentor Silvia. Her abilities as a fighter were self-taught not only to improve her own craft, but also as an attempt to stand out against Bards in the field of musical talent due to her ineptitude for most magics.

Morality & Philosophy

We always joke about Phoebe having a "heart of gold" or something, but she isn't out to be a "good" person. She treats herself as being a "decent" person, and at the very least will try to do what she expects from a "decent" person.

Phoebe would like to improve herself to be deserving of the love and compassion that she has recieved from Silvia and that she sees in her idealized version of Silvia. It's less of a "I want to be a good person and do good things," and more of a "I want to leave things and people a little better than I found them if/when I can. It's the least I can do to pay back what I've got". She wishes to reflect some of the love, affection, and redemption that she recieved from her mentor. She recognizes this goal as being unattainable, yet something that she should still work towards. - It is important to note that from Silvia, Phoebe has learned to be content with whatever point she is in her goal for the time being. The future always holds the potential for improvement

Phoebe is extremely sentimental. She values the people who loved and helped her grow, and she's very keen on keeping whatever attachments she can that can still connect her to those important people

Phoebe isn't really that good at expressing her own sadness, and prefers to bury it down until she feel's its appropriate to release it. She prefers to keep herself upbeat due to her fondness for seing joy in the faces of others.

• Although she does talk about wanting to bring joy to the faces/hearts of others with her music, she is somewhat shy about letting others hear her music that expresses how she truly feels inside.

Phoebe tends to express/release her sadness through the "true music" she plays on her violin. These songs are often filled with sorrow, longing, and grief; they are seldom hear by others, since these performances are more for herself.

Phoebe finds it's easiest to express her feelings through her precious violin, and sometimes uses it as a tool to help her express any strong emotions that she's feeling including joy, anger, and passion.

These two first met at one of the circus's performances. Phoebe could tell that Lizzy was enamored with her or at least that she fancied Phoebe. Phoebe found it cute so she decided to get to know her if nothing less. Phoebe decided to invite Elizabeth to travel along with the circus for a few nights and she had graciously accepted the offer. From that point on, Elizabeth would occasionally accompany the circus for a few nights whenever they were traveling near town; so much so that Lizzy was well known by the other members of the circus and would join them for meals whenever she was staying over. During Phoebe's off time, these two would bond over sharing of their gifts. Lizzy was a fan of horror stories, and according to Phoebe she was both the greatest story teller to ever exist and a dork. While Lizzy would read to her stories of horror, romance, and adventure alike, Phoebe would repay the favor by playing Lizzy all sorts of tunes on her treasured violin, including one that she had worked on just for Lizzy.

Silvia Lyndwood:

• High Elf. Long, dirty-blonde hair. Tall.
• Silvia is Phoebe's mentor/master, and in some ways she has also taken on the role of Phoebe's adoptive mother or older sister as well. Silvia moved over to the colonies roughly 100-120 years ago for reasons somewhat unknown to Phoebe. Everyone's got their own baggage and reasons for joining the circus, so it's typically seen as taboo to ask others much about their life from before or why they joined. Silvia was assigned to Phoebe to train her in the ways of the sword for swordsdancing. Silvia is very much attuned with nature and has exceptional perceptive prowess and stealthiness. Phoebe considers her mentor, Silvia, to be one of the most powerfull people she has ever met (although considering all the uber-powerful things we've been running into, I no longer have a clear idea where she stands in actuality).
• Phoebe doesn't know why Silvia still refuses to leave the circus, but she chose not to question it out of respect

Beyond that, Silvia taught her how to become attuned with both nature and her surroundings. Silvia can probably be given the most credit towards helping Phoebe overcome the grief, despair, and hatred caused by the loss of her village.

Both see eachother as exemplary embodiments of Love and Compassion; however, they each view themselves as unworthy or unclean in comparison to the other. Silvia sees Phoebe as a pure, incorruptable, new hope for the world; a brighter, whimsical future than whatever she could hope to provide. Phoebe sees Silvia as her savior and a bottomless well of unconditional compassion, forgiveness, and redemption. These idealized views that they have of eachother push them to strive for constant self-improvement. Additionally, it is impossible to corrupt these views that htey have of eachother. The song "Love Like You" should give you a good idea of this
Silvia's warm embrace is Phoebe's happy place as well as her sanctuaty.
Formally, her bond with Phoebe is that of a mentor and their apprentice; however, Phoebe views Silvia to be more of a motherly figure or a somewhat doting older sister. Likewise, Silvia continues to care for Phoebe as if she were one of her own kin, often tenderly referring to Phoebe as her "little one". Both were sad to part ways, but believed that their paths were destined to intertwine again after Phoebe had taken a chance to spread her wings. As a mentor and motherly figure, Silvia would be stern during Phoebe's training and would dote on her when it was time to take a rest; however, she always made sure to give Phoebe the freedom and space to make her own decisions so that she could learn from them herself and carve her own path.
