The Known World

 

A world varied, with captivating landscapes, fascinating cities and lengthy history.

Yet it is in the same time filled with monstrocities and malice, thanks to either beasts or men, all thirsting for blood and power.

  It is home to the ingenious dwarves, residing and prospering at their islands in the north, the Lozaarihln. It is also home to the many human nations in the enormous continent of Numonia. Furthermore, there are the elves struggling to survive either at their homeland in the continent of Iulsat or at any human nation. Moreover, the half-men wander the Known World searching for a place to consider home. Finally, the extinct mandrakes, a race of humanoid creatures with the power to transform to dragons, cast a faint echo, since their flaming annihilation.   Whatever peace the Known World had so far is now in the edge of ruin. Political and religious powers seek to control the masses, mysterious forces watch over the world's nations and shape their fates and generally conflict is most inevitable. And in small, shadowy corners of the Known World, the prophecy of the Black Dawn is whispered:   "Through fire, sins are absolved. Through blood, justice is brought. With the Black Dawn's rise, old mandrake fire will reburn. And what was once destroyed, it shall be reborn..."
