Crossbow (Cross-bo-uh)
The Crossbow is the final ranged weapon acquired in the game. It is constructed out of household items, including several rulers. It fires single bolts with high damage that are effective at any range. Bolts that are fired sometimes do not break on impact, allowing them to be recovered and reused. Its main weaknesses are a slow rate of fire and reload time. The damage can be increased and the chance that a bolt will break can be reduced with upgrades at a Power to the People station, making the Crossbow an efficient weapon with nearly limitless ammo. The Crossbow has a high ammo reserve capacity, but ammo is rare throughout Rapture. It may also serve as a sniping weapon.
The damage is 2d6 and is hand-drawn (meaning it will take one action to reload, one action to pull back, and one action to fire.) The range is 10/20/40 feet. The Crossbow can currently hold 8 arrows maximum, but this can be upgraded. While the maximum range is 40 feet, players may attempt to hit a target at a distance further than 40 feet by rolling to hit with disadvantage at the GM's discretion.

While the Crossbow is a very reliable weapon in Bioshock 1, it should be noted to both players and GM's that the crossbow ammunition is rare and should be treated as such during a campaign or session.
