Horthall Galleon
Before the invention of the Horthall galleon, the Known World and the World Beyond were largely separate, with the only people to cross the Ice Wall doing so either on accident or through arduous expeditions by highly trained individuals. The invention of the Horthall galleon allows for even the most untrained individuals to cross the wall en masse.
Horthall Galleons were built specifically with crossing the Ice Wall in mind. The hull is built will two layers of sturdy, insulating materials to protect against the harsh antarctic temperatures and icebergs. The journey on foot required is also considered. Between the layers of the hull is extra insulation that can be removed and worn by up to a thousand civillians. It's for this reason that Horthall galleons are often only used for crossing the Ice Wall once, and were often given other purposes after their maiden voyage, but replacing the insulation is not unheard of.
The Ice Wall itself is usually surmounted using a series of pulley systems to elavate individuals over a few at a time. Horthall galleons are always equiped with spare parts and are required to have a skilled ice climber in case repairs are needed.
In addition to standard cargo, the journey requires materials for the construction of a second boat once outside the Wall, as the Horthall galleon is far too cross over. Materials are sometimes salvaged directly from the galleon itself. This was the biggest difficulty with traversing the wall, but nowadays plans are made to have a boat prebuilt outside the wall and sent to incoming travelers.
In general, a full expedition can be expected to take about 3-4 months.
Horthall galleons were named after Erasmus Horthall, and is often credited for their creation
