Equipment Packages
To make outfitting both NPCs and PCs quick and easy a set of basic equipment packages has been created, to quickly outfit a character simply pick the package that best matches the role of that character.
These equipment packages contain the basic equipment that a soldier would carry while engaged in combat or the particular duties associated with the soldier's allotted role. It does not include a list of the equipment that a soldier would have while at camp or barracks. If a player wishes to include a greater level of detail we recommend the player carry out a little research – Osprey has published a number of books that would be very helpful for researching such issues, plus these publications can be used to research the background of units from the Second World War.
Paratrooper equipment lists will contain more equipment than the general lists, this is because we assume that the character has performed a jump with his full equipment load.
- Historical Accuracy: The sources for these equipment packs are quite varied, we have attempted to be accurate but we acknowledge there may be discrepancies. If you discover something that is incorrect, please let us know by posting your comments here on World Anvil.
- Equipment: This item lists the general equipment the character would be carrying upon his person when in action. Weapons: This item lists the weapons carried by the soldier. All weapons come with one fully loaded magazine, when this is used it is normally switched for a loaded magazine - with the empty magazine placed into the pouch that the full magazine was retrieved from.
- Optional Equipment: This item lists the equipment maintained at the soldier's camp location. If the character is currently on the move the equipment would be contained in a backpack or unit transport. Paratroopers would only have access to this equipment after linking up with their own supply lines after a jump behind enemy lines.
- NPC Ammo: This attribute can be used to randomly determine the amount of ammo carried on an NPC or that can be scrounged from dead NPCs. The dice roll result determines the number of full magazines or clips that can be salvaged.
