The Eternal Spire
The Eternal Spire is the largest structure in the known world, always expanding, always growing taller.
Automatons are constantly salvaging the surrounding terrain for more metal scrap from the Old World mechs from the Great Mechanized War. These parts are used in the construction of the tower.
The internal construction is mazelike and massive, with only automatons able to seamlessly navigate it's many halls and rooms. Various individuals take up residence in these halls, and given the massive size, even bandits and wildlife have claimed parts of the tower. Some automatons that have become corrupted wander parts of the tower, feral and dangerous.
The Spire is in a constant state of expansion, with the base at the time of writing at a massive quarter of a mile in width, narrowing as you go up in height. The top touches the clouds, with countless walkways spreading out into subtowers up the main spire.
In the center of the Spire is a 100 foot wide hole, extending from the top of the tower to the bottom. Scraps of metal are dumped into this hole to plummet to the bottom, presumably parts of the tower that have been decommissioned.
There is a legend among the locals stating that the one who controls the top of the tower, controls the automatons. This cannot be confirmed or denied, as many who climb the tower never return, and those that do never see the top. The construction of the tower, however, may be partially an amplifier for the grand network the automatons have formed, so the theory isn't entirely based on fantasy.
