Espresso

When I finally settled in at the Library, one of the first things I said was "God damn I miss coffee.", and then to my surprise one of the other Librarians came back to me a few minutes later with one of the best lattes I've ever had in my life.

Espresso is a town with a large engineer and archaeologist presence, and is the home of the rebirth of coffee in the West.

According to local legend, an Old World structure was buried in a mudslide and beautifully preserved. Upon discovery, the archaeologists there began going through the machinery and documents left there, and discovered the location was originally a café, with meticulously recorded coffee recipes and maintenance manuals littering the cabinets.

Naturally, they wanted to try some, so they hired an engineer to recreate some of the equipment in the café while the archaeologists harvested the coffee bean plants seen in the region. The results were amazing, and the town was established as the home of coffee in the West.

The town is in a fairly central location in the West, enabling the town to easily trade their various roasts and recipes. Nearly the entire populace works in some form of coffee production, with the rest working either as guards or essential services such as inns and grocers.
The surrounding countryside is heavily farmland, harvesting the coffee bean to meet the high demands.
