Bahamut, the Platinum Father

Bahamut is the Dragon god of hope, justice and selflessness. His followers are not as plentiful as other gods on mount celestia, given his lesser powers. However his worship is increasing as of late as many of his ancient churches are becoming uncovered, in addition to the growing tensions in the Dragons war.   Long ago when, only the makers existed in the universe, the first maker Eavelion tasked his two children with creating creatures of unmatchable majesty. He first made a reptilian creature of colossal size, infinite wisdom and unrivalled power. This was the first dragon, and his name was Lov. The twin children of Eavelion, the makers Blawicx and Beadlra, each made their own approximation of the dragon to please their father. Beadlra as a being of absolute Law, took from the earth her father had spawned to create her dragons. She took of the finest metals she could find, and filled her creations with radiant life, and Thus were born the Platinum Brothers, Bahamut, Vasreal, and Korix. Blawicx, a being of chaos, instead decided to make his own dragons with no aid from his father, so as a reverse to his sister, he took a minor colour from the spectrum which receives little influence. And thus he created his Violet sisters, Tiamat, Akuul and Lazix. Eavelion looked upon his childs creations. In the Violet he saw ambition, and in the platinum he saw wisdom. And so he rated his childs creations as equals. And so this would be and the dragons would live in peace. However eventually war would break out between the Maker twins, and so the dragons would each side with their creators. The platinum would once again draw from the earths greatest metals and craft their own children, the Metallic dragons. And the Violets would draw from the Prismatic spectrum and create the chromatic dragons. Each of these new draconic species had within them an element of their creators personality, and fought their cousins without relent.   Towards the end of the war of the makers, the dragons all warred on one field. Their magic manifested in breaths of acid, fire, frost, poison and lightning which eviscerated each other. The Platinum and Violets blasted one another with radiant and force blasts, each one reeling from the sheer power of the magic. Distraught at his children now warring each other for a cause that was not their own, Lov moved to the center of the conflict and attempted to reason with the dragons, but was caught in the crossfire of the magical onslaught. The sheer power of their breaths tore the earthen scales from Lovs body, leaving him a fleshless skeleton. Seeing the horror they had caused, the dragons ceased their fighting and formed a truce. Shortly after the war of the makers came to a close, and the gods now had to decide what they would go about doing on the material plane. Asmodeus suggested that all three of the makers most powerful creations, celestials, dragons and giants all work together under the “Entente of the Remainder”. However several among the chromatics refused this alliance, specifically the most powerful of each of the chromatic Dragon races a red named Tiram, a blue named Deldreth, a white named Mamrinia, a Black named Tazaissos and a Green named Harmet and were led by Tiamat a violet sister. They attacked the new home of the Gods known as Mount Reduriga, and were subdued by the armies of Asmodeus. He decided he would punish these dragons for their actions, and banished them to the grave of Blawicx, a place we now know as the abyss.   Bahamut was the first to speak up against the cruelty of Asmodeus for his dealing with Tiamat, which was the beginning of their long feud. Bahamut quickly fell into roll as the negotiator and voice of reason among the gods, however he never quite fit alongside them or his draconic brethren. He was unusually direct in his actions for a celestial, and far too selfless to be among most of his kin at the time. His preferred method of communication was to speak with the most downtrodden among the mortal races, and help them in any way he possibly could. This would quickly earn him a reputation as a symbol of hope and justice among the mortals who adored him. An event that shook him was the return of Tiamat now in her twisted and corrupted form, as the queen of the demons. He pleaded with the gods to save his fallen sister, but Asmodeus was in their good graces at this time and convinced them to allow him to craft his own realm from which he could hold back the abyss. Eventually the “War of the Triune” would break out between the Gods(The Giants, Celestials and dragons), the Demons(The Armies of Tiamat, Orcus, Demogorgon, Baphomet, Juiblex and others) and the Devils(Asmodeus new army). Bahamut would lead all of his dragons against the Devils and Demons, alongside his Chaotic brother Vasreal, but the neutral leaning Korix had no interest in the battles, and the violet sisters had not been seen since Tiamats fall. In time the war would end in the establishment of the Planar partition and the Celestials Decided to leave the material plane once and for all, and offered very few other creatures a place in their new home. One such creature was Bahamut, who was astonished at this offer. He was one of the most resistant against leaving the plane, but he also recognised if he stayed on the material plane his power would slowly wane. And so he accepted and ascended to godhood, and left his two platinum brother on the material plane.     Bahamut would be the only Dragon god, until the conclusion of the Giant/Dragon war. Bahamut was disgraced at the actions of his children, and so he punished them by removing their innate divine mastery, aside from the progenitors who were the most powerful of each type. The metallics accepted the punishment with humility and disgrace for their actions, however the chromatics were outraged by the punishment and most decided to turn towards Tiamat who was imprisoned on Avernus and offered them revenge against the Platinum God. And so this is where the Draconic pantheon now lies,   Bahamut the Dragon god of hope, justice and Selflessness   Tiamat, the Dragon god of fear, corruption and greed   And the resurrected dragon god of death, Vol.   Bahamut is primarily worshipped in Wyrmstone, as well as in slums and poverty-stricken places anywhere across the material plane. It is said that Bahamut can appear to his followers as an aged bearded white-haired man in ragged and torn clothing with golden pseudodragons’ around him. It is said he is free to walk around the material plane because of an agreement between him and Traveller who will briefly swap places with the Platinum dragon when he needs to walk the material plane. His two brothers Vasreal and Korix are said to walk the planes of their own volitions, and occasionally visit bahamut in mount celestia to speak with their brother. Vasreal is much more likely for the average mortal to come across given his chaotic nature, however it is very rare for him to reveal his true nature to others given his love for disguise and decit despite his ultimately altruistic nature. Korix is said to be waiting and watching somewhere among the planes. Some believe he watches the actions of the Githyanki from the astral plane, some scholars suggest he converses with Tiamat every day in Avernus under the guise of one of her consorts in the hope he may redeem her, and some even suggest Korix is a ruler of mortal nation and takes the guise of another to hide their true form.

Tenets of Faith

Worshipping bahamut is simple, but different to other deities. He does not wish for prayer or devout worship in a traditional sense. Instead he wishes his followers to carry out his will through their actions. His tenets are as follows.   ·Carry hope where you walk. Be the light the people need, and help them build around you to become their best versions of themselves   ·Always believe in the good of someone first, but acts of violence against the innocent are unacceptable and must be treated with proper justice.   ·Be forever selfless, give everything you can. For every copper you may not need will save the life of a starving child.   ·Be wary for the Talons of Tiamat and her followers, but never ever judge one on first appearances. Let hope be the guide for speaking with those you may consider a foe and a new path may open before you.
