The Long Day: The Purple Plague

Plague / Epidemic

1506th Year of The Days of New

Motivated by the desire to eternal life, a Necromancer devised a horrible plot to turn the world into Undead, forever removing life, and giving a gift of undeath

Motivated by the desire to eternal life, a Necromancer devised a horrible plot to turn the world into Undead, forever removing life, and giving a gift of undeath. Unknown how, he obtained two legendary artifacts, The Inverted Pilar and Pelor’s Staff. The Necromancer unleashed a Purple Miasma that spread throughout Orphan’s Triangle within days. The land became a graveyard of ash and undead. The people became zombies, the wild animals became zombies, even the deceased became zombies. Death was no longer relevant.   It was until a virtuous party came together and sought out the source of the Miasma. They even gave their lives to accomplish this task. The Necromancer had devised a way to control any undead with his magic, but the party resisted it, and thanks to undeath, they persisted in their quest. They battled the Necromancer and had won. They reversed his curse on the land within the last vestiges of time they had left before the Plague spread past the mountains and into the rest of the Riverway, by using the Cube of Incabulos that was given to them by a mysterious aid.     The Corrupted Staff of Pelor was now restored to its proper glory, and all things destroyed and dead were repaired and brought back to life. All things. This reversal had greater effects than intended. Anything and everything that was dead within Orphan’s Triangle was brought back to life. As long as they hadn’t died naturally, the people of the land were free to live a second life thanks to the efforts of the party....
