Session 25 report

General Summary

So shit has hit the fan...

Strahd: You have one chance to reveal yourself.
Markadoo has no intention of revealing himself.
Strahd: Suit yourself
Strahd steps back and attempts to fireball the bears but Fassi counterspells it.
Strahd is displeased.
Fassi slowly backs away without making eye contact
Two of the bears grapple on to Strahd as Markadoo runs away
Quill continues to run from Rahadin
Fassi fucks off (technically flies off I guess) towards Kriz
The party has lost sight of Rahadin
Markadoo books it and Rahadin spots him. He still looks like Ireena
Kriz spots Fassi: Whats up?
Fassi: Fuck,fuck,fuck,fuck,fuck,fuck,fuck
Kriz: What's wrong?
Fassi: Strahd and fire and let's go
Kriz: Is he alright?
Fassi: I don't think we will be
Kriz: We won't be? So he's not in trouble?
Fassi: He seems fine at the moment, a bit tied up. Are you understanding we need to go now?
Kriz: If he's a bit tied up I better go check on him.
Fassi: ...what the fuck man
Kriz: Why, I don't understand
Fassi: The bears are handling him ok?
Kriz: Wait, he's fighting bears?
Fassi: I don't know what the bears are doing... do you know where anyone else is?
Kriz: we were chasing bears earlier... I saw Rahadin fighting the bears right?
Fassi: Ok, where was that?
Kriz: Somewhere near the town centre
Fassi: OMG

Takes off in frustration

Strahd's horse trots up to one of the grappling bears and stomps on it, killing it instantly
Strahd tries to free himself from the bear but fails (nice nat 20 bear boi)
Quill runs and go break into house (really not helping the cat burglar cliche)
Fassi flies around trying to spot any ally aside from useless Kriz, a bug flies into her eye(nat 1 :/)

Rahadin starts chasing after "Ireena" (Markadoo in disguise)
Markadoo as Ireena: Don't take me to Strahd you fucking creep
He runs away behind a house
Kriz runs towards town square and spots the bear grappling Strahd.
He shoots it in the eye with his crossbow.
Strahd's horse trots over and kills the bear that's grappling Strahd
Strahd jumps on and flies off.
The bears run over and block Rahadin from chasing "Ireena" (Markadoo)
The party remember that they are still wearing stupid costumes.
Quill hangs and hides in the house she is in. Distractedly thinking of a song she once heard.
Fassi sees Strahd fly up into the air and decides to land and keep a low profile
She then runs through the town square towards where she saw the bears go.
Meanwhile, blocked off by bears. Screams radiate from Rahadin causing the bears to rear back in pain.
He then raises his scimitar and kills both of the bears, before heading back along the path he saw "Ireena" go along.
Markadoo goes behind a building and disguises himself as a villager and begins to start stacking crates.
Kriz looks up at Strahd: You all good mate?
No response.
Kriz is a bit out of the loop. He decides to investigate but does a shit job of it.
Strahd flies over to Fassi
Strahd: What are you doing?
Fassi: Looking for rufians...
Strahd: Why did you counter spell me?
Fassi: I can't abide needless disintigration of these townsfolk...
Strahd smiles at Fassi and suddenly she feels he is not really such a bad guy
Strahd: We will deal with this when things simmer down. You will help me find Ireena.
Fassi: Ok

Where in the Vallaki is Ireena?

Quill goes outside and carefully pokes her head around a building to see if the main road is safe.
It is not. Rahadin sees her.
Quill run ™. She ends up hiding behind the blue water inn.
Fassi investigates. She sees oversized rabbit foot prints walking alongside human footprints. She will then see the human footprints go into a house and the rabbit footprints keep going. Fassi enters the house that the evidence leads to.
The party have again lost sight of Rahadin
Markadoo goes about his day, carrying a crate.
Kriz walks towards Fassi Strahd calls down to the people in the town square: Help me find Ireena!
People in the town start checking nearby houses
Quill run ™
Ireena comes out of hiding, glad to see Fassi. She is still gagged.
Fassi: I'm so glad I found you! STRAHD!
Takes off Ireena's gag.
Ireena's eyes go wide as Fassi takes her gag off.
Ireena whispers: WTF ARE YOU DOING
Markadoo is walking towards the town square with his crate, he sees Strahd, pauses and walks in a different direction with said crate.
Kriz: Oh Strahd, sounds like she's in there
Strahd: excellent
He lands his horse and walks to the door of the house Fassi and Ireena are in
Strahd: Fassi, may I come in?
Fassi: Of course, I hope this makes up for earlier.
Strahd: We will discuss this later, but first open the door
Fassi opens door
-The players are heavily against what is happening. Kate is right. Their screams only make it more fun.
Britt: I was such a good plaaaaaaan :(
Quill run ™ then hide™ behind Blinsky's toy shop
Markadoo is still disguised as a villager holding a crate and watching the shit go down as Strahd enters the house Ireena is in.
Markadoo ponders his options.
He really wants to stack the crate and walk away.
But he can't help it.
Markadoo: RUN FOR IT IREENA!

The Farmer's last stand

He tries to cast hold person on Strahd and it fails
Strahd ignores him
Markadoo: If you're might was as dull as your mind, Strahd you wouldn't stand a chance against us. You may be physically above us Strahd, but you are so far below us.
Strahd completely disregards this peasant villager, having had heard it all before.
Strahd walks into the building.
Kriz walks closer to see what is happening.
Strahd to a concerned looking Ireena:
Ireena, I understand the terror and confusion that clouds your heart, nurtured by the lies and fears sown by those who do not comprehend the depths of our bond. You see, my love, throughout the centuries, amidst the solitude that consumes the corridors of my existence, only one beacon has ever pierced that eternal gloom – it is you, my Tatyana.
Quill hears the commotion and tries to see what is happening. She hides and looks down an alley. She sees graffiti and sees a butterfly fly past.
Ireena has no idea what to do
Fassi: Ireena it's nothing to be afraid of...
Strahd: DO NOT INTERUPT ME
Fassi is embarassed and backs up
Markadoo disguises himself as Van Richten
Markadoo: STRAHD I HAVE COME TO KILL YOU, IT'S ME, YOUR ARCH NEMESIS. NO MORE SHALL YOU HURT THE INNOCENT
Kriz: What the heck, Van Richten? Do you guys need to fight right now?
Strahd to Ireena: Stay here for a moment.
He is absolutely fed up and walks outside
He seems maximum pissed off.
Markadoo: You are old and ugly
Strahd: You have been making my life a pain and now that I have found Tatyana, you ruin my speech. Van Richten, this is the end of you!
Markadoo: Run Ireena!
Strahd holds his hand out towards "Van Richten" (aka Markadoo) and begins to drain moisture and vitality from him.
It do kinda fuck him up
Quill hears the commotion and runs up to the window of the house the noise seems to be coming from. She sees Ireena standing near the window and Fassi cowering in the corner. Quill opens the window.
Quill: Ireena let's go!
Ireena is overwhelmed and doesn't do anything
Fassi: Quill calm down, everything's cool
Quill: Everything's good?
Ireena just looks really overwhelmed
Strahd walks up to "Van Richten" (Markadoo)
Markadoo: I've fooled you so many times Strahd, a simple farmer has out witted you. How many times?
Strahd is very confused as Markadoo still looks like Van Richten
Kriz tries to break up the fight. In doing so his hand phases through Markadoo's disguise
Strahd: ENOUGH! If you want to live drop the disguis
e Markadoo drops it and smiles
Kriz: What the hell, Markadoo that was you?
Strahd: Everyone follow me to the town square
Everyone follows, everyone except Markadoo
Markadoo spits on the ground: I do not fear you.
Kriz:... chill out man
Strahd:
Markadoo, your eyes betray you. They tell me you know I could snap you like a twig.
And yet I don’t, why? Because I can respect someone who is willing to face oblivion for what they believe in.
Besides, you are ignorant to the values I have instilled in these lands.
You are basically a savage. So let me educate you.
Do not withhold information about Tatyana
Do not get between me and Tatyana
And never defy me.
You see over there? (points to the chard remains of the burgomaster).
He knew the consequences of his actions. And now so do you. Do you understand?
Markadoo: You are the darkness, the shadow that is cast over this land. But like all darkness is dispelled when the dawn will rise.
Your reign of terror will come to a end, it may not be me, but if I had some part in helping those who stand against you rise, then I will die happy.
Strahd:... is that it?
Markadoo: If you kill me Strahd, there will be others to come and I will return to the earth
Strahd: I understand you are not the sharpest being a farmer, I just told you I am not going to kill you as long as you understand me.
Now do you understand or not?
Markadoo: I think we both know if you do no tkill me then I will just continue to get in your way. I won't let you have Ireena.
Strahd: Ok then you will be a lesson to the rest.
Markadoo: A lesson to rise above, to not fear you.
Britts cats are fighting and everyone goes to pee.
Fassi: Markadoo... you just need to listen to him, it will all be alright.
Fassi tries to charm him but it doesn't work
Fassi to Strahd: Please spare him, he's just an idiot
Markadoo: Maybe you're right, maybe i'm getting too old for this
Quill walks up behind Ireena and tries pulling her away. Ireena comes with her.
Strahd holds his hand up towards Markadoo: Everyone learn this lesson well.
The moisture and vitality starts draining from Markadoo
Fassi tries to counterspell it but fails.
Fassi: Noooooooo
Markadoo: Rise up my friends, be the light that will cast out the darkness
Markadoo drops
Kriz heals Markadoo a little
Kriz: Look, you've done enough, you've already knocked him out
Strahd: Now what kind of a lesson would that be? I'll say when it's enough
Fassi begs Strahd to leave it be
Quill run ™ while dragging Ireena along. She looks in a house and sees two cultist so keeps running
Strahd walks over to Markadoo before leaning down and biting him on the neck
Markadoo laughs as he bites his neck
Strahd bears his fangs before sinking them into Markadoo's neck. Sucking his vitality.
Markadoo: I haven't died for nothing Strahd, take a look around you, you're half way across the continent.
Strahd's eyes dart towards Markadoo as he drinks his blood.
Markadoo is dead. He does a death fart.
Strahd is disgusted.
Strahd lifts his head and wipes his mouth, looking at the party.
He recomposes himself: Lesson learned?

The search party

Kriz: Not really, you just killed my mate. What the hell?
Strahd: You saw his disobedience, he was not a good fit for the realm. Are you also disobedient?
Fassi: You monster...
Kriz: So anyone who doesn't fit your ideals dies?
Strahd: No, anyone who challenges me dies.
Kriz is pissed.
Strahd: Well... it's not much of a lesson unless something is lost. NOW, where is Ireena?
Kriz: I suppose you learned a lesson too. Rule with an iron fist, lose the things you love.
Strahd walks towards his horse.
Quill spots an empty house and says to Ireena: Get in and give me your shoes.
Ireena complies
Quill then tries to put on her shoes. Her feet do not fit.
Quill then jumps into the house and hides with Ireena.
Meanwhile Kriz is holding Markadoo's corpse.
Strahd walks over to take it.
Strahd shakes his head: Pass it to me.
Kriz: No! You just killed him!
Strahd: I will not ask another time
Kriz: If I kill Ireena and I take the body with me would you approve of that?
Strahd: I have already dispatched of one of you today I feel like that is enough, but if you are telling me you have not learnt your lesson I can shed more blood.
Kriz: What lesson? Just listen to you and that's it?
Strahd: Clearly it has not worked
Fassi: Strahd there's a problem, Ireena is gone.
Quill gives Ireena her cloak and ditches her rabbit costume.
Quill and Ireena run ™
Strahd looks at Kriz, then at Fassi and back again before snapping out of it and getting onto his horse and flying up into the air.
Kriz begins to weep and carry Markadoo towards the church
Fassi starts looking for Ireena and Quill
Rahadin sees Kriz walking with Markadoo: What happened?
Kriz: I dunno, Strahd just lost it, Markadoo and Strahd had a verbal back and forth and now he's dead.
Rahardin:... yes that tends to happen
Kriz: How can you follow someone like that. If you voice your opinion he will kill you
Ireena and Quill run ™. Ireena's feet are getting torn up and Quill gives her shoes back. Ireena puts them on. Ireena is hiding under the cloak next to Quill.
Kriz keeps walking with Markadoos corpse towards the church
Fassi: Ireena, wherever you are, come out please!
Quill considers hiding in a nearby shed but hears a moan coming from it.
She hides behind the burgomaster's mansion with Ireena
Quill: Ireena what should we do?
Ireena: He's relentless, i'm feeling like giving myself up. Maybe If I just gie myself up it will all be over with.
Strahd flies overhead, scouting.
Kriz trudges towards the church
Strahd flies again scouting
Quill is all like... fuck... he's quick.
Quill: Ireena, run for the church
Quill back tracks and tries to hide her tracks
Kriz is moving towards the church
Fassi heads towards Strahd
Quill spots Fassi: How are you? I've been trying to find Ireena!
Fassi: Me too, I can't find her anywhere. I think Strahd's seen something, I can see him flying over.
Wolves come out of the woods and encircle the town.
Kriz walks towards church,
Strahd flies towards Quill
