Diplomatic action

The party arrives in Atalia and uncovers a plot by the Emerald Claw to control Lady Delune. With the help of new allies the Deathguard, our party defeats Karrnathi death soliders, ends ghostly possession, and prepares Atalia for the upcoming battle.

The party arrives in Atalia and notices that the wetchings seem to be in high standing. There are dwarven refugees outside the walls of the city. Everything looks pretty militarized.   Traul takes us to the fortress and we meet Lady Delune and her advisors. We debrief what we learned from the Arcanum and warn about the upcoming attack from the Gri Rebels. Lady Delune decides to “thank us” by giving us the opportunity to swear fealty to her and grants us the night to think about our decision. We spend the evening schmoozing with the other guests and the advisors. Then the Deathguard arrives and Delune and her advisors low-key freak out.   Wearing Finder’s Goggles, Farnus learns that Delune is possessed.   After dinner chat with the Deathguard reveals they don’t plan to swear fealty to Delune. They’re investigating reports of necromancy and will support Delune for now. We tell them about the zombies in Dytamer, the warforged in Catford, and the creation forge. They lose their shit. We agree to follow their lead in the morning when we meet with Delune.   In the morning we hint at knowing something about Delune but don’t reveal that she’s possessed. One of the Deathguard runs a check and confirms the possession and starts the fight. Our party and the Deathguard fight the guards and the advisors, end Delune’s possession, and destroy the heart of Luthais’s wife whose ghost was in Delune.   We go to destroy the ghost and it has raised Karrnathi Death Soldiers. Group effort with the Deathguard, our party, and the Atalian guards defeat the ghost and skeletons.   After the fight, the Deathguard interrogate Luthais to learn that he’s part of the Emerald Claw and controlling Atalia in exchange for the resurrection of his dead wife. The advisors released Greathard who escaped in the tunnels below Atalia.
