Session 11 - Report

General Summary

16th of Lenzin 200 The party got some breakfast and went over the jobs available to them. They gathered their things and on their way out, to begin the hunt for the enormous saber cat that had been harassing the locals, they stopped in with the local magic shop The Glimmering Scale, a small shop run by an older rasp named Fussa. Fussa, noting that they were heading out into the woods, requested that should they be able to acquire some, he was looking for some Manabark. Velvet was also able to procure some Devil's ginger, an orange powdered substance that inspires hallucinations, from the old rasp. They did a bit more shopping and preparring before heading out into the wilds. Mara also noticed that some black colored calouses or scales had emerged on the back of her neck and shoulders. None of her party was able to identify the cause though Mara secretly feared it might be a side effect of eatting the Tree of Life fruit. Speaking with some local healers they weren't able to glean much from it. Mara confided in Chael about what she had done. They set out into dense jungle to hunt the giant Saber Cat that the job board had bountied. Venturing into the trees eventually they came across a woman, crying at the edge of a tar pit. When they inquired as to what was wrong, she explained that she had lost her belongings into the tar pit while trying to get samples from the tree branches above. Harper decided to dive into the tar. Tied to one end of a rope and ashton to the other. By a stroke of luck, Harper was able to find the bag by one of it's straps under the tar, and having Ashton and the others pull him back out of the black pool. Using magic to clean himself of the tar, the woman runs over and thanks Ashton and Harper for their efforts in retrieving her bag. Finally introducing herself as Dr. June Mangi she gave harper a small jar of sentient tar. Harper managed to flirt with her a bit before she left. She also maanaged to point them in the direction of the Saber Cat's lair. Following the path to a ruined temple inside of the jungle they spotted their bounty and moved to engage. The beast led them through a long fight teleporting around the area and leading them through other monsters and a pride of more normal saber cats. As Mara ignited ehr inner rage, she transformed, shrinking by about 3 feet and sprouting a horn and more scales, she was now in the realm of cute, much to her chagrin.
