    The Empire of Zul and the Awakening of the Aqir
    Founding

    Chronicle Vol. 1, Ch. 3 describes the founding of both the Empire of Zul and the Aqiri Empire, as well as the branching of the Aqir species into Nerubian, Qiraji, and Mantid strains. These two empires fought among eachother, a conflict that unified the trolls for a time under the Zandalari trolls. Once the war was over, the Empire of Zul began to disintegrate.

    The Age of a Hundred Kings
    Political event

    The curse of flesh reaches the mogu, leading to infighting and death in their ranks for the first time. The mogu begin to fight for domination of the region around the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, various warlords coming and going with alarming speed. They would band together to fight the mantid every cycle, but once the insectoid race was driven back, hostilities would resurface. Lei Shen    A number of new races were born in the region from creatures drawn to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. Jinyu, Hozen, Pandaren make their first appearance in the Chronicle at this time, as well as the August Celestials. The Pandaren and August Celestials form a culture seeking harmony with their environment.

    The Second of the Great Wars between the people of Azeroth and the Orcish Horde.

    The Reformation of the Horde
    Founding

    Orgrim Doomhammer, Grommash Hellscream, and Thrall begin to raid the Orcish Internment Camps in Alterac. Doomhammer is slain in one of these raids. Thrall is named Warchief of the Horde. Shortly after this, Tirion Fordring meets an old Orc named Eitrigg. They fight, and the tower Eitrigg was hiding in collapses. Eitrigg pulls Tirion to safety, showing Tirion that Orcs can also be honorable. Tirion refuses to tell Alliance officials where Eitrigg is, even when he is put on trial and expelled from the Order of the Silver Hand.

    The Third War
    Military action

    The Burning Legion launches another assault on Azeroth using the Lich King. A plague of undeath spreads throughout the kingdom of Lordaeron, resulting in the rise of the Scourge. Prince Arthas Menethil falls to corruption, taking up the cursed runeblade Frostmourne and murdering his father, King Terenas II. The Sunwell is defiled, and the demon lord Archimonde is summoned into Azeroth. Many survivors flee to Kalimdor, including humans led by Lady Jaina Proudmoore, and orcs led by Warchief Thrall.

    Chapter 6: The Culling of Stratholme
    Disaster / Destruction

    Arthas orders the city of Stratholme purged in order to prevent the Plague of Undeath from spreading any further. Uther and Jaina refuse to help him, and Arthas suspends the Knights of the Silver Hand from service, citing their refusal to "do what is necessary to save [their] land" as treason.

    Chapter 9: Frostmourne
    Discovery, Exploration

    Arthas and Muradin use a waygate to reach the cave where Frostmourne is hidden in a block of enchanted ice. Muradin realizes the blade is cursed after reading the inscription on the dais. Arthas calls out to the spirits of the cave, saying he will bear any curse as long they will help him save his people. The ice surrounding Frostmourne shatters violently, impaling Muradin. Arthas is stopped from healing him by the whispers of Frostmourne and instead claims the sword. He returns to his men, leads them in an assault against the Scourge stronghold nearby, and slays Mal'ganis before disappearing into a snow storm.

    Arthas' Betrayal
    Life, Death

    Arthas Menethil returns to Lordaeron City a hero. Upon reaching the Imperial Throne Room, he kills his father, King Terenas II. He is accompanied by Falric and Marwyn, and able to kill nearly everyone in the palace. His sister Calia escapes by hiding beneath a corpse in a muddy trench for two days. Arthas raises Invincible as his deathcharger shortly after.

    The Fall of Silvermoon
    Military action

    Arthas and the Scourge breach the walls of Silvermoon after catching Sylvanas Windrunner while she is defending refugees in their flight to the city. She is slain outside the city walls and raised as a banshee as an example. The city still refuses to surrender, so Arthas attacks, breaking through the defenses and riding through the city to the harbor. He freezes the water between his army and the Isle of Quel'danas, creating a bridge. He kills Anasterian Sunstrider on his way to the Sunwell before dumping the remains of Kel'thuzad into the Sunwell, corrupting its energies with necromancy.

    The Second Battle of Sunwell Plateau

    The Amani Trolls attempt to invade Quel'Danas in the hopes of taking control of the Sunwell from the Undead who now occupied the island. At the same time, a contingent of high elves led by Prince Kael'thas used the Key of the Three Moons to detonate the Sunwell, teleporting out just in time and leaving troll and undead alike to burn in the explosion.
