A'zen Rel

A land full of savagery and arcane, where beauty meets brutality. A realm in it's early infancy, most of the land is unexplored and left to the wilds. Civilization has sprung up more out of a necessity instead of a convenience and very few villages have survived the savage lands. For survival purposes, people have rallied together and created large cities to accommodate their numbers and protect them from the wilds.   Not much is known about the Rel's ancient history, the time before the creation of the many humanoid species. A few archaeological finds have revealed an ancient race of highly intelligent beings that seemed to have vanished - or died out for whatever reason.   Some areas are so saturated in the arcane, it causes weird geographical anomalies. From the bioluminescent plants and animals in the Everglow Bayou - To the Floating Isles of Alenthea, the Elven City. The Deities were quiet on this matter for many years, before one finally told the tale of the Void. During it's earliest days, the Void; A primordial entity of immense power tried to devour the world simply by entering into it from it's own plane of existence.   This lead into the Time of Decadence; Many deities did not make it out alive, one was imprisoned for attempting to merge with the Void, and the others were successful in defending the Rel. In doing so, parts of the land became drenched in arcane energy.
